He has already watched Aaron’s staff swallow the staffs of Egypt’s magicians. He has already been warned by the Lord. But Pharaoh still refuses to let God’s people go.</p><p><br></p><p>In this episode of Nate’s Bible Stories, we continue the dramatic showdown between Moses and Pharaoh in Exodus 7 and 8. The Lord strikes Egypt with the first two plagues: the Nile turns to blood, and frogs cover the land.</p><p><br></p><p>The Nile River was the lifeblood of Egypt. Its waters fed crops, carried trade, supplied fish, and sustained the kingdom. Egypt trusted the Nile. Egypt trusted Pharaoh. Egypt trusted its gods. Throughout the Bible, numbers often carry meaning, and the Bible expects us to notice that. The plague lasting seven days shows that this judgment was measured, intentional, and fully under the Lord’s control.</p><p><br></p><p>The magicians of Egypt could imitate parts of the signs, but they could not stop judgment, bring healing, or provide relief. Only the Lord could do that.
