[…] Endotherms that get it from our food and metabolize it ourselves. And this means that, yeah, the temperature that they get their body to is really important. Now, not all reptiles across the world need the same temperature. So ours are in the temperate, they're northern temperate reptiles, so they're really evolved to be able to capture as much heat from the environment, from the sun, and use this and they can do that both behaviorally but also there are some physiological adaptations that help them gather more heat from the environment they require that heat for activity for metabolism for incubating offspring it's very important they can't regulate it can they they can overheat yeah so just like us we can overheat but they don't have any natural kind of built-in abilities to be able to cool their bodies down like sweating for example So they have to rely on behavioural ways to cool themselves down.
