Ep 08 Shifting Times
How can we live with change when even traditions of the annual cycle no longer work? Myths and rituals talk about nature and biodiversity of ancient times. But with climate change, we are confronted with the phenomena of shifting baselines and "planetary amnesia". Listen to how we could redefine the storytelling connections of time and space in our changing landscapes.
At the intersection of cultural heritage and science, this episode compares the traditions of the 15 August with modern knowledge of plants and ancient chronicles. I talk about animal and interspecies friendship - and the star of this episode: my dog Bilbo.

Ep 07 When Gardeners Run Wild (part 1)
Finally, spring - gardening time! It is said that humans developed farming with the Neolithic Revolution and later gardening. Did the idea suddenly pop up like that? Follow me on the trail of our furred and feathered colleagues, the farmers in chitin, and the forgetful gatherers dealing with seeds and plants, whole forests and landscaping! Listen to the fascinating story of the return of a rare plant thanks to a rodent and tunnel builders who restored a landscape after a volcanic eruption. Learn about the astonishing knowledge visible in fossils and the ant-men with whom Zeus saved an island.
Studio guest: Myrme Cochory, a specialist in fungus cultivation, talks about the millions of years old farming knowledge of her species.

Season 01 Ep 06 Chatting With An Alien
Originally, I wanted to tell you how to experience a meadow with all your senses. A wonderful exercise to connect with nature or to get creative. Essential for Nature Writing. But then suddenly there was this strange alien who wanted to join in. An artificial, absolutely unnatural "thingy".
Did it have any idea about human enthusiasm and the scents of grass and earth? What does it do to me? Can I, as a human being, also become an alien in nature? What can generative artificial intelligence teach me about humans? (No special knowledge is necessary to listen!)

Season 01 Ep 05 She Dies In Beauty: Why You Can Feel Both Eco-Grief And Hope
Did you ever feel eco-grief, this modern malaise, a mix made by knowledge and experience of biodiversity loss and climate crisis? How is it possible to feel hope at the same time?
Come with me and visit a place of extreme ambiguity where a restricted area becomes a rewilding idyll. Learn about traditions of feeling oneness and interconnectedness with nature, from ancient times to Minnesang and Troubadours, and old mystics until modern people like Romain Rolland or Oliver Sacks. Find out how to feel awe and the happiness of unselfing!

Season 01 Ep 04 Sitting With Your Beloved Sourdough
Let us scratch the anthropocentric view of life again in our new episode!
During the pandemic, many of you grew monsters in the fridge: homemade sourdough. I'll tell you about the secrets of our countryside traditions. How they used to feed these monsters even after midnight. Today, scientists are studying the dirt that makes this possible. A fascinating being will tell you how important healthy soil is: for your brain, your gut and your immune system, and also apparently for mental health. An episode teeming with microorganisms.
Let's visit all these microscopically tiny friends that form more cells in our body than we have human ones. How human are our bodies? Or how alien?

Season 01 Ep 03 Sitting With Your Body Mates
After "deconstructing" our anthropocentric perspective of a tree and fungi in episode 2, let's now do it with ourselves! After this episode, you will look at your face with completely new eyes. Caress your cheek, take a selfie: you are never alone! Your skin is like the surface of a planet where little aliens live. They are nice, somewhat cute and keep your pores unclogged. But they could be an endangered species. And that's why species extinction concerns us up close to our skin!

Season 01 EP 02 Sitting With A Tree
Enjoy this more relaxed summer edition to learn to shift your perspective. Walk with me and my beagle Bilbo into the forest, where we will sit with a tree. In the beginning, it could sound strange. But believe me: after this episode, you will be able to look at a tree with different eyes as well as at your next pizza! Changing perspectives works toward all aspects of life. And it's a skill that everybody has. Perhaps you've only forgotten to use it?
