   Magazines

In the beginning there was the word, and the word wasn't something you had to Google or ask AI, or that came up on your feed or in an app, but the written word. And the word sometimes fell on your doormat with a thud, and other times it was on paper thinner than the Argos catalogue. And the word was weekly…or sometimes monthly…or occasionally fortnightly. But it was always anticipated and welcome, and your sole source of news about your hobby. Today we're talking about the magazines that put us on the page. News Margaret Hamilton, whose software helped land Apollo 11 on the moon, dies at 90 - BBC News (https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cx5yn46j41zpo) Margaret Hamilton, computing pioneer who led software development for the Apollo program, dies at 90 | MIT News | Massachusetts Institute of Technology (https://news.mit.edu/2026/margaret-hamilton-computing-pioneer-dies-1007) AI/ML is becoming a performance factor in motorsport - Ars Technica (https://arstechnica.com/cars/2026/10/ai-ml-setups-became-a-tool-in-indycar-champion-alex-palous-toolbox/) Something huge vanished from a NASA display pole months ago, and the agency's boss keeps dodging every question about it | TechRadar (https://www.techradar.com/pro/phone-communications/nasa-could-bring-back-sr-71-as-missing-blackbird-sparks-wild-speculation-about-the-worlds-fastest-plane-ever-and-former-staffers-contacted-for-help) F.02 Decommission (https://www.figure.ai/news/f-02-decommission) This fortnight we are recommending Andi: Ted Lasso - Apple TV (https://tv.apple.com/gb/show/ted-lasso/umc.cmc.vtoh0mn0xn7t3c643xqonfzy) Brothers - Apple TV (Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson) (https://tv.apple.com/gb/show/brothers/umc.cmc.17g1y5mzqp92sc0ge1c0hdorg) Celebrity Traitors (https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episodes/m002csng/the-celebrity-traitors) Eastpack “The One" EDC pouch (https://amzn.eu/d/09V6zapC).
