An existential and surreal journey into comics, video games, sci-tech, movies, tv, and everything in between… Every other week we take on current pop culture and the weeks in between we explore in-depth discussions, interviews, and a multiverse of nerdy weirdness.

RIP Space Ghost: George Lowe Reads Coast to Coast Fanfic
It's with a heavy heart that we report that Space Ghost is no longer getting enough oxygen. On March 2nd, George Lowe, voice of Space Ghost, and all-around delightful weirdo, became a true ghost. He joins C. Martin Croker, voice of Zorak and Moltar in Valhalla.
We never did any podcasts with either of them, but back in 2014 we recorded an episode of Nerdy Show Live with George Lowe where we read some Space Ghost Coast to Coast fanfic. George Lowe reads as Space Ghost, Cat as Zorak, Hex and Moltar, Doug as the announcer, and Jonna as Lou Ferrigno. "But wait", you might say to yourself, "I've never seen/ heard any such show!" Right you are. Nerdy Show Live was our short-lived experiment in doing panel show-style video programs in front of a live audience. This particular Nerdy Show Live was delightful in-person, but disastrous insofar as recording - as you'll hear. Long story short: we weren't in control of our audio engineering and what we ended up with is an unusable mess. However, in memory of George Lowe and C. Martin Croker, we've done what we can to salvage the best bit of that hot mess in a somewhat-listenable form.
Listenable enough, perhaps, that hopefully you can have a laugh and think on the gloriously surreal late nights with Tad, Zorak, Moltar, Brak, and the rest of the gang.

Pixelh8's Hard Reset
Nerdy Show doesn’t have a monopoly on going dormant for years at a time - why, twelve years ago, legendary chiptunes artist, Pixelh8, stepped away from music. He turned from pioneering musician to pioneering educator and founded The Creative Computing Club. But no sonic wizard stays entombed forever! Pixelh8 is back! His new record, Hard Reset, is out now, further new projects await, and we've dusted off Nerdy Show to give this old pal a warm welcome home.
In this episode Cat and Jess travel with PixelH8 trough his new album, track by track, and learn crazy tales like how his first acting gig, on the set of a Tollywood movie, led to him programming a song on decommissioned missile hardware. We'll also discuss the how’s and whys of his departure from music and everything that happened in between, the various eras of chiptune music, his work reclaiming computer chips from dying consoles to build new instruments, spending six hours to make an anime sound on the NES, and much more.
