NeuroTangents is hosted by Hannah Markos and Alicia Beth of the Vermont Higher Education Collaborative. It was created to provide accessible information to educators about neurodiversity-related issues that matter in their work right now.
As the discourse around neurodiversity continues to evolve, new topics, terms, and practices are emerging quickly. NeuroTangents seeks out experts to help build understanding and identify ways to make the (learning) world a more inclusive place.

Behavior is Communication with Molly Bumpas
SLP & BCBA Molly Bumpas joins Hannah and Alicia to talk about all things behavior, from the challenges associated with functional behavioral assessments (FBAs) to the intersection of affirming intervention and social justice.
Molly is a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at UVM. She serves on a multidisciplinary team in the Autism Assessment Clinic within the Vermont Center for Children, Youth and Families. She also teaches an intensive caregiver training program for families with young children on the autism spectrum. In addition, she provides clinical supervision to graduate students working in the E.M. Luse Center providing speech-language assessment and intervention. Areas of interest include interprofessional collaboration and practice in autism assessment and treatment, as well as evidence-based practices in autism early intervention.

Addiction to Certainty with Dr. Nick Walker
Dr. Nick Walker joins Hannah and Alicia to talk about neurodiversity, creativity, and our collective addiction to certainty. Dr. Walker is known for her contributions to the development of the Neurodiversity Paradigm and for coining the term neuroqueer. She is a somatic psychologist and author of speculative fiction and the webcomic, Weird Luck. Her book, Neuroqueer Heresies: Notes on the Neurodiversity Paradigm, Autistic Empowerment, and Postnormal Possibilities, is a collection of two decades of her most influential work.
