   It's A Wonderful Life

Welcome to Never Seen The Godfather with Lorna and Sarah! Each week we dive into a popular film with someone who has never seen it and someone who loves it, and we discuss it. Are these films worth the hype? What have we been missing? You boy! What day is it? Why, it's the belated return of Never Seen the Godfather, of course! Join Sarah and Lorna as they discover the joy and staying power of Frank Capra's It's A Wonderful Life (1946). Listen as they realise what proportion of the film is made up of the backstory, try to figure out the business operations in the town, and explore the harrowing fate of a woman working in a library wearing glasses. They cosy up to the holiday season realising that there are more important things in life than money, though it does help when the town saves you from going down for embezzlement. The Muppet Christmas Carol

Welcome to Never Seen The Godfather with Lorna and Sarah! Each week we dive into a popular film with someone who has never seen it and someone who loves it, and we discuss it. Are these films worth the hype? What have we been missing? WARNING: This podcast contains NO MUPPET EXPERTS God bless us, every one! It's the Christmas Special, here to warm up drafty houses (though it's even worse for mouses). This week the girls are discovering their love of 1992's The Muppet Christmas Carol and appreciating Muppet star power for the first time. It's a Dickens story with music, Muppets, and more humans than you would expect. Join us as we go through the beats of a familiar story, lyrics that make us laugh, clever character quirks, the scenes that had Sarah crying, and Lorna's real feelings about Tiny Tim. Happy Christmas and New Year to our listeners, we love you to pieces (even more so to those meeces) Hope you all get coal this Christmas (complimentary) xxx Follow us on Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/neverseenthegodfather Hosted by Lorna O'Dea and Sarah O'Sullivan Edited and produced by Sarah O'Sullivan Sound engineer - Ben Keighley Cover Art (without Christmas additions) by Emily Torpey https://www.instagram.com/emily_torpey_designs/ Hosted on Acast. Primal Fear

Welcome to Never Seen The Godfather with Lorna and Sarah! Each week we dive into a popular film with someone who has never seen it and someone who loves it, and we discuss it. Are these films worth the hype? What have we been missing? This week the girls are going straight from horror to horrified! Staying in what is fast becoming their favourite year (1996), Sarah shows Lorna all the gory intrigue of Primal Fear. This film's double twist leaves much to be discussed, though we do try to find time to figure out what these other plots are about and we do not succeed. It's two hours of great performances, overt musical cues, American legal jargon and some goddamn Catholic representation. Sarah marvels at Richard Gere's second best performance as an arrogant lawyer in Chicago and Lorna worries if Roy is going to get her. Scream (1996)

Welcome to Never Seen The Godfather with Lorna and Sarah! Each week we dive into a popular film with someone who has never seen it and someone who loves it, and we discuss it. Are these films worth the hype? What have we been missing? I scream, you scream, we all scream... and we're still screaming. Someone call Gail Weathers because Lorna and Sarah are venturing into the horror genre for the first time with the 1996 Wes Craven film Scream and it's big news. We're not braving it alone though, as we are joined by horror expert Emily Long to guide us through one of her favourite films. The girls are on a journey of discovery this week, asking questions like what are the rules of a horror movie? Do we like cheesy lines or hate them? Is there more than one killer? And who the fuck is Randy? We also discuss the concept of the final girl, and in this podcast you have not one, not two, but three of them to carry you to the end. Hocus Pocus

Welcome to Never Seen The Godfather with Lorna and Sarah! Each week we dive into a popular film with someone who has never seen it and someone who loves it, and we discuss it. Are these films worth the hype? What have we been missing? Double double toil and... children? Listen up ye old hags - this week we're watching the 1993 Halloween staple Hocus Pocus which takes us to Salem with witch trials, talking cats, and puritans. Is it historically accurate? Who cares! We believe in women's rights and we believe in women's wrongs - but if Winifred, Mary and Sarah are wrong then we don't want to be right. They put a spell on us, and now... you know the rest.
