Weekly Sermons from Rev. Dawoon Kim. New Harvest Church was established in the summer of 2018 in hopes of a new harvest. What do we mean by that? We have seen a mass exodus of young people from the church, especially the Korean-American Church. Some have lost their faith and others have grown skeptical and cynical of "traditional religion". Why has modern religion failed? A.W. Tozer once said, "Modern religion focuses upon filling churches with people. The true gospel emphasizes filling people with God." Our goal is to create a church that fills people with God through faithful preaching and teaching of the Gospel found in the Word of God, through a commitment to the making of disciples as the Lord commanded, and through the power of the Spirit . In the same way that Abraham laid down his own son for the sake of the descendents that he could not see, we want to build this church for the generations that will come after us, for the New Harvest. The name New Harvest also reminds us that we have a very small role in the work of God. The farmer does not have the power to make the plants grow. He simply plants, waters, and reaps the harvest created by nature. And we simply seek to reap the harvest that God causes to grow among us.
