[…] How? Starting this month, restaurants there must tell customers whether their dim sum is handmade in the restaurant or made using what officials call non-traditional methods. Which basically means factory-made. Pretty much. Ooh, so now people can see what they're actually paying for. Exactly. And there's another new rule too. If a restaurant says its dim sum is traditional and handmade, it has to be served within 24 hours of being made. That's pretty fresh. Right. So the city says the idea is to protect dim sum as part of China's cultural heritage. Music. Meaning it's not just about food. It's about protecting old skill and traditions, too. […]
