<p>2020 taught us a lot about the way we communicate at work. As many of us transitioned into a remote way of working, adjusted our working hours around caring and family needs, and communicated primarily using technology instead of face-to-face, we unwittingly exposed the gaps in our communication tools.</p> <p>In a hybrid or remote-first context, organizations need to make use of multiple communication methods and platforms to enable their employees to achieve their goals—however, the larger goal should always be centered around driving empathetic and clear communication.</p> <p>Bridging these gaps might require smaller process changes, like remembering to write things down for absent team members, or more complex behavioral changes to help other team members feel more included. However, as we look towards the future of work, these are challenges that organizations will need to solve if they expect to navigate the transition to hybrid or remote-first cultures successfully.</p> <p>Let's listen to our NGOPI Podcast with one of our Tokopedia Leader, the Head of New Retail (Mitra Tokopedia) of Doni Nathaniel!</p>

NGOPI Leadership Ep. 02 : The Art of Performance & Career Communications.
<p>Leadership is the key principle behind successful organization, where leaders are leading at the frontline. In Tokopedia, we have “Leaders create Leaders'' by setting up the leadership infrastructure to empower leaders so that leaders can learn, unlearn, and re-learn about Leadership to live the manifesto of Leaders-create-Leaders culture. Additionally, we’ve built a coaching ecosystem, as part of leadership, to build our leaders as coaches and hopefully can support the dream of #SemuaGuruSemuaMurid as well as supporting the Growth Mindset by leaders coaching Nakama and vice versa.</p> <p>Communication is the basis for a person to interact when building relationships, collaborating and negotiating, and working together in business activities. Clear communication when giving feedback is a critical component on how we express a combined sense of leadership and empathy, particularly in performance discussion. Without the knowledge of communication, performance discussion will turn to a potential roadblock for Nakama’s next performance and career.</p>
