She pushed right back.And I loved it.I AM SO PROUD OF ALISSA ELLMAN.It also made me think about my own opponent refusing to debate me.Maybe she’s afraid of THE TENNEY BREAKDOWN—that moment when the mailers and commercials disappear, you’re standing on a stage in front of the public, and suddenly you have to defend your record and answer the person standing across from you.No handlers. ALISSA ELLMAN MOVED ME TO TEARS.Yesterday, watching Alissa Ellman stand on that debate stage against Claudia Tenney really got to me.To me, the contrast was POWER AND PRIVILEGE vs. A REGULAR PERSON WILLING TO STAND UP AND FIGHT.Alissa stood there, took the questions, made her case, and didn’t back down. Watching someone without all the advantages of entrenched political power step onto that stage and speak for ordinary people was powerful.I was proud of her.
