Changing the course: the NHS's first treatment to delay type 1 diabetes

NICE has recommended teplizumab for NHS use — the first treatment to delay the onset of symptomatic type 1 diabetes by an average of nearly three years. In this episode, we speak to Lucy Chambers, Head of Research Impact and Communications at Diabetes UK, and Amy Norman, whose daughter Imogen accessed teplizumab through a managed access programme after being identified through the ELSA screening study. Endometriosis fertility care and gynaecological cancer guidance

In this episode of NICE Talks, we're covering some of the most significant guidance updates of the year so far for women's health and cancer care. For the first time, NICE's updated fertility guideline includes a dedicated pathway specifically for people with endometriosis who are trying to conceive — a direct result of patient and clinician voices being heard during public consultation. We then turn to important updates to NICE's suspected cancer recognition and referral guideline, including changes to how ovarian cancer is investigated across different age groups and new guidance on endometrial cancer for people on HRT.
