A few years ago, I began recording this podcast in English and stopped before it was complete.
I thought I would return when I could do it better, especially when my English felt more secure. The unfinished episodes stayed with me.
I have decided not to wait for perfection.
The Sacred Nights have been part of my work for too long to leave this English version unfinished.
So this is where I begin again, with the English I have and an invitation to come along.
What is Mabon, what does the autumn equinox mean, and do we really need to know exactly how this festival was originally celebrated?
In this episode, we explore a little of the history behind this time of year, the story behind the name Mabon, and even more about traditions and rituals, the way you choose to celebrate, and what this day might show you.
Something to reflect on, to carry with you, and perhaps to see in a new way.

An Embodied Practice
How can you live the Sacred Nights today?
Welcome to the fireplace. Today, we explore the different ways people celebrate the Rauhnächte: from incense, journaling and reflection to Tarot, old customs and the connection between each night and the months of the coming year.
And no, there is no single right way to enter these nights. You can keep it mystical, reflective or playful. What matters is that you allow this tradition to become something lived, experienced and personal.

A Living Tradition
Before we start with rituals and all the things we can do during these nights, I want to go a little further back.
Because there is not one original Rauhnächte tradition. No one old system everybody followed in exactly the same way.
So where do we start?
Perhaps with Halloween and Samhain, with the beginning of the darker time of the year, the harvest, our ancestors and the question of what we actually carry with us when we enter this time.
And yes, all of this has something to do with the Rauhnächte.
Let´s meet at the fireplace for more shared wisdom.

An Invitation
An Invitation to the Sacred Nights
In the gap between the old year and the new are twelve nights that have carried stories, rituals and questions through generations.
In this opening episode, I welcome you to Sacred Nights. I speak about the Rauhnächte and what you can expect from this podcast. Even if I do not say it directly, you may hear why I return to them year after year.
Across the episodes, old traditions meet modern life. This is an invitation to listen: to your dreams, your questions, your memories and whatever may already be taking shape.
This is the doorway. The room is open. The rest will follow.

Nina Roosen | Modranecht
Short story about Modranecht, the Raunächte and how the podcast works.
December 21 Modranecht (Winter Solstice) THis night is dedicated to the female principle. This night is about giving thanks to the mothers, wet nurses, midwives, healers, etc.. Therefore, in the past, gifts were given to mothers on this night. Usually the Raunächte begin in the night of 24/25 Dec. from midnight, but some celebrate the Raunächte already from Modranecht and end the cycle accordingly earlier. We start the cycle on Dec. 24 and celebrate Modranecht as a preparation. You can get a nice book and or a nice pen if you like, or you can download the workbook I created for my online course and podcast to record your dreams and thoughts during the Raunacht days.
