Episode 27: Be Blessed Beloved

Episode 27 marks the Season 1 finale of No Code Switching, and we kick things off by reflecting on the journey so far and showing love to everyone who has supported us along the way. From day-one listeners to new followers, we appreciate every stream, share, comment, and conversation. In This Can't Be Real Life, we cover another round of headlines that feel stranger than fiction — from Italian scientists using "mummy guts" as sourdough starters to the ongoing ripple effects of DOGE-era decisions. We also discuss the story of a father of ten who was falsely accused, leading us into a broader conversation about mistaken identity and the real-world consequences of getting it wrong. In The Pulse, we put friendship to the test with a series of morality questions and "what would you do?" scenarios that reveal a lot about loyalty, boundaries, and what we owe the people closest to us. In You Like It, We Love It, we ask the important questions: why are people voluntarily climbing in New York City sewers?  For We Said What We Said, we keep it simple and direct: church is not a replacement for therapy. Faith and mental health support can coexist, but one should not be expected to do the job of the other. Citizen's Arrest goes to two groups this week: the tourist who decided to swim in one of Rome's famous fountain and FIFA officials, who continue to prove they deserve scrutiny. And while the episode ends a little abruptly thanks to a dying battery, we close with gratitude for our listeners and excitement for what's next. Thank you for rocking with us through Season 1! We'll see you for Season 2 of No Code Switching — Fall 2026.

Episode 26: Lock That Hoe Up

Episode 26 kicks off with the results from last week's The Choice Is Yours poll as we settle the debate of Who was the wildest Brown? Naturally, that conversation sends us down a side quest discussing the Michael Jackson documentary that we both happened to watch and our thoughts on what we saw. In This Can't Be Real Life,  We discuss the government agency responsible for dealing with bedbugs finding itself with a bedbug problem, Trump's reported earnings over the past year, protests in Albania over Jared Kushner's development plans, and how FIFA's approach to selling World Cup tickets may not be going according to plan. In The Pulse, we talk about what appears to be happening in job interviews with recent graduates and why employers are increasingly frustrated. We discuss interview preparation, professionalism, communication, and whether the criticism is fair or overblown. In You Like It, We Love It, we react to comments from K. Michelle about her relationship and her views on what is and isn't acceptable within a marriage. As expected, we had opinions. In We Said What We Said, we discuss an 18-year-old Chicago high school graduate who went viral after making a bold statement while crossing the graduation stage. We talk about what she did and the larger conversation it sparked. Citizen's Arrest goes to Ivanka Trump and family for their involvement in a massive proposed private-island development project in Albania. And for The Choice Is Yours, we want to know: Who do you consider the most suspicious person at work? We gave listeners a few options, but you'll have to listen to find out what they are.

Episode 25: We'll Figure It Out When We Land

Episode 25 starts with a catch-up on how we're doing before diving headfirst into another week of headlines that had us asking, what is actually happening? In This Can't Be Real Life, we discuss the Justice Department's continued pursuit of E. Jean Carroll, a judge's decision to allow a 16-year-old accused of killing his stepsister to remain free while awaiting trial, and the bizarre story involving a Colorado Republican gubernatorial candidate whose past includes allegations involving an abusive stepfather and a homicide committed when he was a child. We also talk about senior Pentagon leaders reportedly wanting body composition requirements for attendees at a UFC event planned for the White House lawn because apparently that's where we are now. In The Pulse, we talk travel personalities and vacation styles. Are you a meticulously planned Type A traveler? A go-with-the-flow Type B traveler? Or something else entirely? We even invent a Type C traveler and discuss the kinds of trips we'd actually want to take. In You Like It, We Love It, we get into Apple's new bill-splitting feature and whether technology is finally making group dinners, shared expenses, and vacation planning a little less painful. In We Said What We Said, we discuss investing in young people and why opportunities for students—especially those pursuing higher education and being accepted into elite colleges and universities—should be the expectation, not the exception. Citizen's Arrest goes to Minnesota Republicans for proposing a moment of silence for someone who absolutely did not deserve one. You'll have to listen to find out who earned that arrest. And for The Choice Is Yours, we ask: Which Brown is—or was—the wildest? James Brown, Bobby Brown, Chris Brown, or Orlando Brown?
