   It's Saved In the Cloud

We live in a world that often values appearance over substance. We see it in fast fashion, fast fame, and the carefully curated images on social media. Like a beautiful house that is secretly crumbling from within, our culture has learned to make things look good without making them strong. We have influence without integrity and success without the sacrifice of surrender to the Lord. This creates a deep-seated anxiety, leaving us feeling unstable and insecure when life’s storms inevitably arrive. This is precisely why we are in desperate need of the glory of the Lord. In the Bible, “glory” isn’t about glitter or religious theater. It literally translates to “weight” or “substance.” It is the tangible presence and power of God that grounds us. To pray for God’s glory is to ask for something within you that is heavier than what is happening around you; a power that betrayal cannot steal, that grief cannot bury, and that the world cannot take away. As we see in Isaiah’s vision, encountering this glory is what prepares us for transformation and a life of purpose.

   Now Spend THAT

Modern culture often presents us with a constant stream of music and messages that shape our values, desires, and identities. A recent song, "Spend Dat" by rapper Yung Miami, sparked controversy for glorifying a lifestyle of scamming and theft. While it is easy to debate the song itself, this situation highlights a timeless spiritual tactic of the enemy: to divide and conquer by having oppressed people fight amongst themselves instead of uniting against the true systems of injustice. This is the same test that Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego faced in ancient Babylon. At the height of their success, they were confronted with a royal decree. When the king’s music played, they had to bow to a golden image or face a fiery furnace. Their story forces us to ask a critical question: when the world’s music plays, a sound demanding our conformity and worship, will we bow down, or will we stand firm in who God has called us to be?

   I Want It All Back

In the Greenwood District of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Black men and women built a thriving community known as “Black Wall Street.” Against all odds, they created their own banks, hotels, theaters, and schools. It was a testament to Black brilliance and resilience. But in 1921, a white mob burned it to the ground, destroying homes, businesses, and lives. This story of progress being met with violent opposition is not just American history; it is a spiritual reality. Every time God’s people are on the verge of a breakthrough, an opposing force comes to steal, kill, and destroy. This same spirit of destruction appears in our text. When David and his men return home to Ziklag, they find it in ashes. Their homes are destroyed, and their families are gone. The devastation is so profound that they weep until they have no strength left. The enemy had not just stolen their possessions; he had stolen their future. Yet, this story, like the story of Greenwood, is not just about destruction. It is about the possibility of recovery and the promise that what was lost can be reclaimed.
