Purpose, Practice, and “Miracles” (feat. Jesse Cruz)

Season 1 closes with award-winning international speaker and national bestselling author Jesse Cruz of Merge Worldwide. Early in the conversation, Jesse introduces himself and explains how he helps entrepreneurs craft stories that create impact and income through one-to-one coaching, an online speaker community, and events across the United States, Mexico, and Italy. We revisit the Rushville, NY speaking competition I won and the “Miracles” theme that shaped the event. Jesse breaks down what judges look for—clarity of message, knowing your audience, strong delivery, storytelling that keeps attention, and a tight close—and we talk about applying feedback, staying on time, and why professionals practice their talk out loud multiple times before a keynote while staying in prayer. Jesse shares how grief and faith reshaped his path, including the loss of his daughter Faith and the support of therapy, church, his wife, and his children. We dig into mindset blocks that keep new speakers quiet, why copycatting your favorite speaker never lasts, and how to find your own voice by getting clear on the problem you solve, the people you serve, and how you serve them. We also cover marketplace ministry, balancing confidence with humility by giving God the glory, and simple execution: remove excuses, execute the plan, and elevate by repeating wins. Before we wrap, Jesse outlines what’s next for Merge Worldwide—his March cruise experience and a June retreat on Italy’s Amalfi Coast—and leaves a final challenge: the message you’re most afraid to share is the one your audience needs to hear. If you’ve felt unseen, unqualified, or stuck waiting for perfect, this finale offers clear steps to publish something imperfect today and keep moving. Seasonal Depression Is Killing Our Men (feat. Izzy Baker)

In this deeply personal and unfiltered episode, Kijuan steps into a fireside-chat tone to confront one of the hardest realities facing our communities today: seasonal depression, silent suffering, and the rise of suicidal thoughts among men. This isn’t theory. This isn’t surface-level motivation. This is a real conversation about pain, numbness, isolation, and the dark moments many people never talk about out loud. Kijuan opens the episode by sharing his own battle with depression after his accident—highlighting the quiet thoughts, the heaviness, and the ways trauma can pull you into a place where you feel invisible. Then he welcomes a powerful and unexpected guest: his producer, social media manager, close friend, and host of PSA: The Mental Health Podcast, Izzy Baker. Together, they dive deeply into why men—especially Black men—struggle to open up, why the military still punishes vulnerability, and why many people never realize their children or loved ones are fighting mental battles behind closed doors. Throughout the episode, Izzy shares raw stories about being diagnosed with depression and anxiety in college, growing up internalizing hurt, losing two close friends to suicide, and witnessing how society’s silence pushes men into emotional corners. Kijuan balances the conversation by shedding light on his own journey through therapy, faith, and mentorship—reminding listeners that seeking help does NOT make you weak, no matter what the world or the military culture tries to tell you. Together, they break down seasonal depression, the weight of expectations, navigating adulthood, the guilt of surviving, and the danger of cleaning up pain with humor or silence. They discuss childhood wounds, faith, unforgiveness, purpose, and the powerful shift that happens when a man decides to finally choose healing over hiding. They explore how community, simple conversations, small gestures, and genuine presence can literally save someone’s life. And they close by reminding listeners that depression is a season—not a life sentence. This episode is emotional, necessary, and layered with hard truths, spiritual insight, personal testimonies, and compassionate honesty. If you’ve been carrying something heavy, if you’ve questioned your worth, or if you’ve ever felt unseen, this episode is going to touch your heart and remind you that you are not alone—and that your story is not over. Because depression does not mean defeat. And just because you can’t see it… doesn’t mean you can’t achieve it. Don’t Just Invite Me—Include Me 🗣️ The Truth About Real Inclusion

In Episode 12 of No Sight, No Excuses, Kijuan Amey delivers one of his most transparent and thought-provoking conversations yet—challenging how we define, discuss, and demonstrate inclusion. This episode isn’t about buzzwords or trendy DEI talk. It’s about humanity. Kijuan opens up about what inclusion really means, not as a concept, but as a right—something every person deserves, regardless of ability, background, or circumstance. He reminds listeners that inclusion isn’t about pity or convenience. It’s about effort, awareness, and genuine willingness to make space for others. Fresh off his victory as an award-winning speaker, Kijuan shares real experiences that cut through the surface. From navigating airports solo and using AI tools like ChatGPT for assistance, to confronting subtle exclusion within his own family, he paints a vivid picture of what it feels like to be left out—not because he can’t participate, but because others assume he can’t. His message is simple: ask before assuming. Whether it’s as small as inviting someone out to eat or as big as planning events, inclusion starts with communication. Blending humor and raw honesty, Kijuan dives into personal stories—from his pastor’s fierce protectiveness when guiding him, to the playful tension that came from being “too sheltered.” These moments reveal how true inclusion isn’t about control—it’s about connection. And through each example, Kijuan reminds us that God Himself is inclusive. Faith, he says, is the foundation for unity. If Jesus could walk among all people, regardless of status, race, or condition, then why do we struggle to include those right next to us? Kijuan then ties everything back to his signature mindset—Excuse, Execute, Elevate. He challenges listeners to stop making excuses for others and start finding solutions with them. Inclusion requires creativity, compassion, and curiosity. It takes asking the right questions like, “How can I best help you?” or “What’s the best way to support you?” These simple questions bridge the gap between isolation and empowerment. By the end, Kijuan widens the lens to society at large, calling out how division in race, class, and belief systems continues to separate humanity. He reminds us that unity is strength, and that until we stop creating new lines of separation, we’ll keep repeating the same mistakes. Through faith, humility, and intention, inclusion can move from conversation to lifestyle. Kijuan closes with a heartfelt reminder: inclusion isn’t charity—it’s community. Everyone deserves a seat at the table, not just an invitation to the room. Because when we include each other, we grow stronger together. And as always, just because you can’t see it, doesn’t mean you can’t achieve it. Built for the Stage 🏆 How Faith Made Me an Award-Winning Speaker

Welcome back to No Sight, No Excuses—and this one’s personal. In Episode 11, host Kijuan Amey returns fresh from New York City, where he just proved that faith, preparation, and persistence always beat doubt. Out of fifteen competitors at the Jesse Cruz Speaker’s Competition in Rushville, NY, Kijuan walked away with first place—and a trophy. This episode breaks down how a blind man became an award-winning motivational speaker by mastering one simple principle: winners are not built on the stage; they’re built in the dark. From airports to anxiety, Kijuan shares every behind-the-scenes moment of what it took to compete—and win. Traveling solo through Chicago and small-town New York, he watched God make a way at every turn: meeting a fellow contestant on his connecting flight, finding a roommate to cut hotel costs, and even sharing a rental car. Each “coincidence” was a reminder that when you move in faith, provision follows. Kijuan unpacks how faith and preparation collide to create opportunity. He details the discipline that no one sees—late nights rehearsing, mornings spent studying delivery techniques, and mental conditioning learned through E.T. the Hip Hop Preacher’s Speaker Certification Program. When his first speech went overtime because he couldn’t see the stage timer, he didn’t complain—he adjusted. Setting a phone timer for day two, he hit his mark perfectly and walked off stage with two seconds left and the win. Throughout the episode, Kijuan ties everything back to the mindset that fuels the No Sight, No Excuses movement. He could have used blindness, fear, or finances as reasons not to go—but instead, he executed the plan and elevated to champion status. His story proves that faith without work is dead, but faith with focus is unstoppable. Kijuan challenges listeners to identify the “stages” they’ve been avoiding—whether it’s a promotion, a passion project, or a calling—and ask themselves: are you waiting to feel ready, or are you preparing while no one’s watching? Because readiness isn’t built overnight; it’s built in obedience. And when that moment comes—when the lights hit, the mic’s hot, and everyone’s watching—you’ll know you were built for the stage. Because just because you can’t see it… doesn’t mean you can’t achieve it. Nobody’s Coming to Save You (feat. Kingsley ‘Brooklyn Teddy’ Scott)

Episode 10 of No Sight, No Excuses marks a monumental milestone — not just the tenth episode, but the first-ever guest appearance in the show’s history. And who better to share the mic than Kingsley “Brooklyn Teddy” Scott, a decorated U.S. Air Force veteran, motivational speaker, and Director of Career Services for an IT academy helping veterans transition into cybersecurity, data science, and cloud engineering. A kid from Brooklyn turned global change-maker, Kingsley embodies resilience, faith, and reinvention. In this raw and powerful conversation, Kijuan and Kingsley go beyond surface-level success to explore what it really means to fight your way back — physically, mentally, and spiritually. Kingsley opens up about his two-decade career in the Air Force, his medical retirement, and the moment he found himself “drowning in the sea of transition.” He breaks down how he turned pain into purpose, shedding over 100 pounds, rebuilding his identity, and discovering his “why” after nearly losing everything. With vivid metaphors and Brooklyn grit, Kingsley reveals the truth behind his phrase “Don’t drown in the sea of transition” — describing how he learned to stop swimming against the current and start flowing with God’s plan. The two men unpack the battle within, from internal wars with self-doubt and imposter syndrome to the quiet victories of showing up for yourself every day. Kingsley’s reminder is simple yet profound: “Nobody’s coming to save you — but they’ll show up to help if they see you helping yourself.” Together, Kijuan and Kingsley dive into topics like mental health in the veteran community, rebuilding after trauma, and the power of consistency. They share personal stories about friendship, brotherhood, and faith — from meeting through the Air Force Wounded Warrior program to supporting one another’s journeys of healing and impact. The conversation hits home with moments of laughter, transparency, and revelation, reminding listeners that real strength comes from embracing vulnerability. Kingsley also shares his philosophy on “making your dash count” — that small mark between the day you’re born and the day you leave this earth. It’s not about how long you live, but how deeply you live. From founding Phoenix Solution Enterprises to co-hosting Vet SOS: Vets Share Stories, Kingsley continues to help others make their dash matter, showing that the comeback is always greater than the setback. Whether you’re a veteran finding your footing, someone battling internal storms, or simply searching for purpose, this episode will light a fire under you.  Because when faith becomes your standard, excuses lose their power. No Sight. No Excuses. Just purpose. Because just because you can’t see it… doesn’t mean you can’t achieve it. Why the World’s Expectations Don’t Define You

Welcome back to another insightful and unfiltered episode of No Sight, No Excuses. In Episode 9, Kijuan Amey breaks down one of the most relatable struggles we all face: expectations versus standards — and why learning the difference can change your peace, your purpose, and your power. From personal stories to biblical truth, Kijuan explains how expectations — from family, friends, employers, and even society — can feel like invisible chains. He’s felt it himself: the pressure to meet someone else’s timeline, to perform at a certain level, or to fit into someone else’s mold. But as he makes clear, expectations often bring nothing but stress, disappointment, and confusion. Standards, on the other hand, are about values — how you choose to live, what you believe in, and what you won’t compromise. Kijuan draws powerful contrasts between the two, reminding listeners that expectations are opinions, but standards are identity. He shares real-life examples — from his own recovery journey to modern politics — showing how misplaced expectations can divide people just as quickly as differing beliefs can. Even referencing the current political climate and figures like Donald Trump, Kijuan explains how Americans are often pitted against each other by expectations about how we “should” think, vote, or live, rather than being respected for the standards we hold. His message: don’t let politics or people define you; live by your principles, not their pressure. Through his “Faith It Till You Make It” mindset, Kijuan explains that God operates on standards, not human expectations. When the world said Kijuan wouldn’t survive his motorcycle accident, God raised the standard. When surgeons said there was no chance, faith stepped in. That same principle applies to anyone listening: when others expect you to fail, your standard and your faith can still lead you to victory. With his signature “Excuse, Execute, Elevate” method, Kijuan flips the script once again, urging listeners to stop blaming expectations and start living up to the standards they set for themselves. He challenges us to write down three expectations the world has put on us — and three standards we want to live by — because clarity creates confidence. If you’ve ever felt boxed in by pressure to perform, this episode is your reminder to reclaim your identity and peace. Expectations may come from others, but standards come from within. And as Kijuan reminds us in every episode — just because you can’t see it, doesn’t mean you can’t achieve it. You Can’t Get Yesterday Back — So Stop Living There

Welcome back to another powerful and perspective-shifting episode of No Sight, No Excuses. In Episode 8, host Kijuan Amey tackles a truth we all need to hear: you can’t get yesterday back, so stop trying to live in it. This episode is a deep dive into how clinging to past mistakes, regrets, trauma, or even glory days keeps us from moving forward and experiencing the life God still has ahead of us. Whether it’s heartbreak, missed opportunities, or personal losses, Kijuan reminds listeners that the past is gone, but the future is still waiting on you to show up. With his signature honesty and hard-earned wisdom, Kijuan uses his own story, including his life-changing motorcycle accident, to show how dwelling on what happened won’t change anything. Despite losing his eyesight, breaking bones, and learning how to walk again, he refused to keep replaying May 5, 2017, in his mind. Instead, he focused on tomorrow, stretching a little more each day, pushing through rehab, and believing that what was ahead could still be greater than what was behind. This message isn’t just motivational, it’s deeply spiritual. Kijuan breaks down why holding onto the past makes no sense if even God Himself isn’t holding it against you. He reminds listeners that grace and mercy are renewed every single morning and that each sunrise is an invitation to reset, refocus, and rebuild. Through his powerful “Excuse, Execute, Elevate” framework, he flips common excuses from “I messed up yesterday” to “I missed my chance”  into opportunities for action. He shows how we can hit life’s reset button, fix the moment instead of throwing away the whole day, and turn setbacks into setups for growth. From learning how to forgive yourself to finding healthy ways to process grief, from creating systems to avoid repeating old mistakes to reframing “failures” as lessons, this episode is packed with practical strategies and spiritual truths. Kijuan even challenges listeners to write down what’s been holding them back and create a plan to make it right because healing starts with action, not rumination. If you’ve been stuck in “what was,” this episode is your wake-up call to focus on “what’s next.” Yesterday is history. Today is your opportunity. And tomorrow is where transformation lives. Just because you can’t see it… doesn’t mean you can’t achieve it. How to Break a Bad Connection

Welcome back to No Sight, No Excuses for Episode 7: “Bad Connections — Let Go Before It Destroys Your Peace.” In this powerful and transparent conversation, Kijuan Amey dives deep into the relationships, friendships, family ties, and work environments that quietly drain us. Using his signature mix of humor, vulnerability, and hard truth, he compares toxic people to a bad phone signal—you keep trying to make the call work, but all you hear is static. Sometimes the wisest thing you can do is hang up, reset, or walk away. Kijuan challenges listeners to stop forcing relationships that constantly bring chaos, confusion, or conflict. If every interaction leaves you saying, “every time,” that’s not connection—that’s a warning. He reminds us that peace is priceless and that holding on to a bad connection can block the blessings meant for our next season. With real-life stories and raw reflection, he explains how fear of change keeps us stuck in unhealthy cycles and why setting boundaries is one of the most spiritual decisions we can make. Rooted in Ecclesiastes 3:1 — “To everything there is a season” — Kijuan opens up about his own past relationship that almost cost him his career and his freedom. It was a defining moment that taught him maturity, restraint, and the power of letting go. He also flips the mirror back on us, asking whether we might be the bad connection in someone else’s life—and how to accept that truth with grace instead of pride. Throughout the episode, Kijuan dismantles the excuses people hide behind: “I’ll be lonely,” “They’re all I have,” “The group will feel weird without them.” He reminds us that if it isn’t feeding your peace, it’s starving your purpose. Through his signature “Excuse, Execute, Elevate” mindset, he shows how taking responsibility for your own energy can lead to emotional freedom, spiritual renewal, and genuine joy. This episode will make you question every tie that steals your peace, drains your joy, or keeps you from growing. Because not every connection is divine—some are distractions disguised as comfort. Let go, reconnect with purpose, and choose peace over pain. Because just because you can’t see it… doesn’t mean you can’t achieve it. You're Gonna Win!

Welcome back to another powerful episode of No Sight, No Excuses: “How to Win Wounded Turning Pain Into Power.” Each week Kijuan Amey delivers fire, raw truth, and authentic conversation that challenges excuses and inspires resilience. In this episode, Kijuan gets real about what it truly means to “win wounded.” You don’t have to be perfect or whole to be victorious. He unpacks the myth that winning always comes from strength or having it all together, revealing instead how you can win with your faith, your family, your friendships, and your persistence—even when you’re hurting. Using his own life as the example, Kijuan shares how he’s living this principle right now, and why pain can actually be the space where your testimony is formed. He opens up about his horrific 2017 motorcycle accident, a moment that left him with a traumatic brain injury, total loss of eyesight, and a prognosis that said he shouldn’t even be alive. From an ICU waiting room packed with praying family and church members to the slow, relentless climb back to drumming, speaking, and living fully, Kijuan shows listeners what it looks like to keep moving forward when life tries to stop you. He even tells the story of a woman at church who had no idea he was blind but could feel his spirit in his playing, proving that your wounds don’t erase your gifts, they amplify them. With humor, honesty, and biblical insight, Kijuan also calls out the trap of comparison and excuses. Stop saying “I can’t” or “I’m not ready yet” and start asking, “What can I still do?” Whether it’s healing from heartbreak, rebuilding after loss, or working through physical or emotional pain, you can still win. Your wound can become your weapon. Your limitation can become your superpower. If you’ve ever felt like your struggles disqualify you from success, this episode will remind you: scars don’t cancel purpose. They prove it. The Power of the Pause: Don’t Burn Bridges with Your Words

Blind motivational speaker and advocate Kijuan Amey is back with Episode 5 of No Sight, No Excuses: “The Power of the Pause: Don’t Burn Bridges with Your Words.” This is more than just a show, it’s a movement. Each week, Kijuan brings powerful stories, hard-earned lessons, and mindset-shifting truths that challenge excuses and inspire resilience. In this episode, Kijuan takes on the raw truth about how conversations can either build empires or burn bridges. Drawing on a real interaction with a respected mentor, he illustrates how quickly yelling, dismissiveness, or careless words can erode trust and harm relationships. Instead of lashing out, he challenges listeners to embrace the power of the pause—that simple decision to breathe, look away, or count to five before responding. What feels like silence in the moment may actually be saving a relationship, preserving peace, and protecting your future. Grounded in Proverbs 18:21, “The power of life and death are in the tongue,” Kijuan connects faith and discipline to everyday conversations, reminding us that pausing can prevent destructive words from leaving our mouths. He also calls out the excuses people make—“that’s just the way I am,” “they started it,” “I couldn’t help myself”—and shows how childish patterns keep us from maturing. Through the Three E’s (Excuse, Execute, Elevate) and his Tool of the Week, he equips listeners with practical strategies, such as walking away, tabling heated discussions, and learning to control emotions before they escalate. With genuine honesty and vulnerability, Kijuan reminds us that one careless moment can permanently damage a relationship, but a single pause can preserve it. This episode is more than a lesson in communication; it’s a challenge to stop letting emotions rule, start practicing control, and choose peace over chaos. Travel Will Change You — If Fear Doesn’t Stop You First

Blind motivational speaker and advocate Kijuan Amey is back with Episode 4 of No Sight, No Excuses: “Travel Will Change You — If Fear Doesn’t Stop You First.” This is more than just a show, it’s a movement. Each week, Kijuan brings powerful stories, hard-earned lessons, and mindset-shifting truths that challenge excuses and inspire resilience. Fresh off a family trip to Italy, Kijuan reflects on the life-changing power of travel and why too many people let fear, excuses, or comfort zones hold them back. From culture shocks like backyard chickens and closed restaurants in the afternoon, to unforgettable meals like lime pepper wings, wood-fire pizza, and the famous “booby burger,” he shares the moments that made the trip unforgettable. But beyond food and sightseeing, he digs into the mindset behind travel: why some people refuse to fly, why fear spreads faster than facts, and why telling yourself “I can’t afford it” or “it’s safer to drive” is often just another excuse. With honesty and humor, Kijuan takes listeners inside his Three E’s (Excuse, Execute, Elevate) framework, showing how eliminating excuses opens the door to experiences that expand your world. He explains why travel enriches you far beyond money, how simple changes—like visiting a new beach or venturing out of your state—can spark growth, and why staying stuck in the familiar will only keep you small. Whether you’ve dreamed of flying overseas or just stepping outside your daily routine, this episode is a call to break free from fear and embrace the unknown. Stop Feeding Your Brain Junk and Start Building Your Future

Blind motivational speaker and advocate Kijuan Amey returns with Episode 3 of No Sight, No Excuses: “Stop Feeding Your Brain Junk and Start Building Your Future.” This is more than just a show, it’s a movement. Each week, Kijuan brings powerful stories, hard-earned lessons, and mindset-shifting truths that challenge excuses and inspire resilience. In this episode, Kijuan confronts the raw truth about how much your mindset shapes your life. He unpacks how the brain fires like an engine, controlling everything from your smallest movements to the trajectory of your future. What you feed your mind—whether positivity, faith, and discipline or negativity, fear, and excuses—will inevitably show up in your body, your spirit, and your results. Using vivid analogies like feeding a baby junk food versus nutrients, he exposes why many people live malnourished lives not because of their circumstances, but because of what they choose to consume mentally and spiritually. With vulnerable honesty, Kijuan reflects on his own blindness journey—standing alone in a mall for fifteen minutes as people ignored his request for help, wrestling with fear after losing his sight, and ultimately discovering how to travel the world, build his life, and live in joy despite his challenges. Through segments like Faith It Till You Make It, the Three E’s (Excuse, Execute, Elevate), and the Tool of the Week, he challenges listeners to stop clinging to toxic comfort zones, to flip fear into faith, and to transform excuses into growth. This episode is not just about motivation—it’s a call to action. If you’re stuck replaying negativity, hiding in your comfort zone, or waiting for change to come from the outside, Kijuan makes it clear: you’re starving your future. The good news is you can choose differently. Feed your mind with vision, faith, and resilience—and remember, just because you can’t see it… doesn’t mean you can’t achieve it. Answer the Call!

Blind motivational speaker and advocate Kijuan Amey returns with Episode 2 of No Sight, No Excuses: “Answer the Call.” This is more than just a show, it’s a movement. Each week, Kijuan brings powerful stories, hard-earned lessons, and mindset-shifting truths that challenge excuses and inspire resilience. In this episode, Kijuan unpacks what it really means to “answer the call.” From a July 4th phone call he almost ignored that turned into an unexpected blessing, to lessons from his days on the football field, he shows how opportunities often hide behind moments of hesitation. That single call even introduced him to Izzy — the producer, friend, and personal scribe behind the podcast — the one who makes sure each episode reaches listeners at the highest level. What could have been dismissed as just another ring on the phone became the very connection that brought No Sight, No Excuses to life. Through his signature “Three E’s” — Excuse, Execute, and Elevate — Kijuan breaks down how to push past resistance, seize divine timing, and recognize when God is using ordinary interruptions to open extraordinary doors. With raw honesty, faith, and humor, he shares why excuses keep us stuck, why obedience is better than sacrifice, and why sometimes the biggest blessings come disguised as inconveniences. From personal stories of perseverance, to practical tools you can apply today, to a reminder that faith and preparation go hand-in-hand, this episode will challenge you to stop hesitating and start showing up. Whether it’s a phone call, a career opportunity, or a spiritual nudge, the call is coming. The question is: will you answer? And remember, just because you can’t see it… doesn’t mean you can’t achieve it Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/no-sight-no-excuses-podcast--6722189/support (https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/no-sight-no-excuses-podcast--6722189/support?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=rss).
