Help Me Monetise This Channel!
I have worked harder on my YouTube channels over the past 6.5 years than I have ever worked a day job, yet my channel still isn't monetised! đ° It's all free labour. You can help by binge-watching some of my Playlists! (Just click "Play" and then go do your thing! You don't have to physically watch them! đ) I do stand a good chance of getting monetised this year, as I have well over 1000 subscribers on this channel, and I will be throwing a LOT of content at YouTube in the coming months. Here are the playlists of my videos dating up until early this year. Nobel Cats 2024 - 2025: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL-pC98-GoD6YqUivZW791eub3E5WUqgRA Heidi Nobel's Vlogs 2024: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL-pC98-GoD6bNna1eS1AkcfTFEn1UE5_7 Heidi Nobel's Vlogs 2023: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL-pC98-GoD6bE9FxZ8qXprWQM_SNAybC6 Heidi Nobel's Vlogs 2018 - 2022: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL-pC98-GoD6aGry15bjcmFs2CHIrShiL6 Singing Challenge 2023: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL-pC98-GoD6b6zzWeFUmFUHlL6VelpDGr Singing & Guitar 2020 - 2023: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL-pC98-GoD6YdcH_qxigbb2vC7RBsjgNl Mandala Art 2019 - 2023: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL-pC98-GoD6aA9CirHLDXrPWjxVqnB3P2 Hula Heidi 2022 - 2023: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL-pC98-GoD6ZDumM02Q2N2rN69XudAATE Yoga with Heidi 2018 - 2023: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL-pC98-GoD6YDHjXewVfq2SK-QXu_LA76 Nobel News: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL-pC98-GoD6Z3uZDUwoknQc_0iDik2CbP I have also created three new playlists for the videos that will be released this year. They are: Heidiâs Favouriteâs Heidiâs Love Quest While I Was Away I have plenty of new playlists waiting in the wings for the coming years. These playlists are in honour of the many different channels and channel names I have had over the years. I wonât be releasing them all next year, as I would rather build up a collection of videos first and give my existing playlists a time to shine. I will announce the playlists that I will release next year later this year. Different Niches on Different Channels For 4.5 years, I have experimented with different channels and niches. I was on the right path, but I didn't realise that I could do everything I love to do under one channel. I will unapologetically do so from now on! đ I look forward to starting afresh with this channel next year (but first, I will be taking many online detoxes!). These past two months have been extremely challenging but also exciting and character-building! I didn't realise just HOW patient and persistent I am! (Albeit at the detriment of my health!) This channel is a labour of love. I hope you will enjoy my videos as much as I have enjoyed creating them! First came analysis paralysis/problem solving (and at times, mania! đ), then came intensive labour (and more problem solving). As of June, it will be all about enjoying the fruits of my labour and getting to know new people from around the world who stumble across my content. Then, creative bliss! đ I can't wait for the fun to begin! đđš Talk soon! Moved All My Videos To My Original YouTube Channel
Good Evening. Welcome to my Nobel News Podcast. The past two months were the busiest two months I have ever had, where my YouTube content creation is concerned, and thatâs saying something! I have learnt that I never want to work so hard on my YouTube channel again. Itâs easy for YouTube to feel like an obligation, especially when your subscriber numbers grow, but I always want to permit myself to take off for weeks, months or even years, if I ever feel like it. I should never feel like I owe people an apology or an explanation if I donât have a new video up every week. I want YouTube to feel like an outlet for my creative expression, nothing more, nothing less. That said, I am proud of my ânever give up!â attitude over the past two months. I have been patient, disciplined and resilient. But I will be kinder to myself and my body from here on in. Once or twice, I cancelled appointments with friends, my choir group and the owner of a dog I walk due to mental and physical exhaustion. There were times when I didnât sleep at all, and I ran on empty! I treated food and sleep as an afterthought while I was completely absorbed in, and snowed under, my content creation work. For weeks, it felt like there wasnât an end in sight. Countless hours were put into planning my renewed content creation journey. I updated my Substack account, YouTube channels and Podcasts more times than I can say, but finally, I have made it out of the woods. I can see clear blue skies and inhale fresh air once more! Moving to My Original Channel On May 16th, I decided to move all of my old videos, which I had released on different YouTube channels over the years, to my original channel. This was my last-ditch effort to help me monetise my channel. I also decided to make this big move to simplify my YouTube journey moving forward. After experimenting with different channels over the past 4.5 years, I have finally concluded that having a one-niche channel isnât for me. If that means I may never have a huge YouTube channel, so be it! Itâs more important that I create with passion and purpose than make money (although money would be a welcome bonus!) I have been a YouTuber since October 8th, 2018. I deserve to have my channel monetised. I believe that can and will happen within the next 6 - 12 months. Moving back home to this channel was a no-brainer. I was struggling to get two of my spare channels up to 300 subscribers, whereas my original channel had over 5 times that amount! You need 1000 subscribers or more to qualify for YouTube monetisation. Now I just need the watch hours, and I think, with the amount of content I will be releasing over the next 6 months, I will get there. My âAnything Goesâ YouTube Channel Going forward, I will see this as my "Anything Goes!" personal hobby and vlogging channel. I can always niche out on one of my spare channels in the future if I feel driven to do so. But for now, it's clear that I want and need one channel where I can do whatever I feel like, whenever I feel like it! That said, there will still be structure to this channel. Starting next year, I plan on releasing one vlog and one podcast episode per week. A vlog will be replaced with a hobby-related video on the fourth weekend of every month (although there may be times when I feel like having hobby-only months, and thatâs OK too!) I may post more or less than two videos per week, but two per week will be what I will initially aim for. Today, I was sketching ideas for my thumbnails. It was going to be simple - A profile pic for vlogs and a mandala pic for podcast episodes. But I think it could be fun to have a symbol for each video that is not a podcast episode. E.g. - A musical note to signify that it is a music video, or a heart to signify that the video is about love. I think I will start with basic standard symbols sourced free from Pixabay, and pop that on top of my purple background. I can always experiment with images of me drawing, writing, or playing the guitar, etc. But we'll start simple and go from there! It will be a good way for people to identify what my video is about, and it will look nice for my Substack home page, which is where I will share links to all my videos. Content Released on My Channel I hope you are enjoying the content that I have released on my channel so far! I plan on breaking it up after my roller-skating/hula hooping and acting videos by adding a little intro video of me briefly sharing what I have been up to with this channel (thatâs the podcast episode you are listening to now đ) and what I have planned for this channel moving forward. Starting next month, I will release all the podcast episodes that I created in May this year. I want to share my podcast episodes sooner rather than later because, not only will it give people an idea of what I have been up to in recent times and what led to this big YouTube transition, but also because most of them are audio-only videos and truth be told, they are a little dull! (A couple I won't share for that reason!) I don't want to share my earliest podcast episodes when I potentially have a big audience in a couple of months from now! It would be an anticlimax. It's much better to share them before the good stuff begins! Dull or not, I do still want to share them. It will only take five days, and it's a way for me to honour the start of my journey, just like I have been doing this month with the start of my musical, acting, hula hooping and roller-skating journey đ These podcasts took me a long time to edit. I have since found a better way of recording them: I will film myself reading my scripts (as I am here). I will also be less pedantic about my audio editing. We all have to start somewhere. We learn what works best as we go! Before I decided to move back to my original YouTube channel, I wrote many Nobel News scripts for upcoming podcast episodes. Even though some of this news is no longer valid, I still want to honour these scripts and share the unaltered versions of them. It was all part of the journey that led to my big YouTube transition. Itâs good to share the earlier planning and work that got me here, not just the end result! You will still get plenty of fresh Nobel News from me. A new Nobel News show will be released at the end of every month. There may also be a behind-the-scenes content creation Nobel News episode in the middle of each month starting next year (thatâs if I have content creation news to share! đ). Coming Up on Simply Nobel Once all of my Nobel News podcast episodes have been shared, I will re-publish videos released on this channel between 2023 and 2024. I felt it was worth giving these videos a second chance to shine, and now was as good a time as ever to re-release them. They have been added to my âHeidiâs Favouritesâ Playlist (Coming Soon!) Next, I will share videos from a Playlist titled âHeidiâs Love Questâ. I wonât be sharing any more about these videos, you will just have to wait and see! Lastly, I will release my âWhile I Was Away!â videos, which were videos I released on other channels between January 2024 and May this year. All of this will take until the 11th of November! So I can finally have a well-earned YouTube break (once I have added End Cards to all my videos and uploaded/scheduled Shorts from different channels - But Iâm taking my time with that!) I am loving this journey of personal, creative and professional development! I am so thankful I have had this chunk of time to dive headfirst into this work without any external life distractions! A new job may be on the horizon soon, so Iâm glad I got all this foundation work in place between now and then! I finally know which way I am swimming (Unlike the last two turbulent "figuring it out as I go!" months) Getting lost in my YouTube journey was all part of it, but I'm so thankful to be out of the creative whirlpool that was sucking me under! I am swimming freely once more! As my beautiful, late, supportive mother, Katie Nobel used to say: "Just keep swimming!" đâïžđ€ That I shall đ Thank you for listening! Stay Nobel! "It's Time to Go Big or Go Home"
Yesterday, I announced on my Simply Nobel (http://youtube.com/@simplynobel) channel that I was feeling frustrated with my lack of YouTube growth. I spent half the day procrastinating and feeling gloomy, not just about my lack of YouTube success, but about my lack of productivity in general! Impulsively, I decided itâs time to go big or go home! Rather than quitting YouTube, which I sometimes feel like doing. I decided I would release daily content! I have tried a 30-day YouTube challenge before; the best I did was a few years ago, when I tried a 30-day singing challenge. I lasted 21 days before catching the flu! I created hundreds of YouTube Shorts. Unfortunately, my efforts were in vain, I gained little reward for my efforts, where new subscribers were concerned (Guess Iâm not much of a singer!) Didnât I Say I Was Going to Take it Easy? Last week, I announced that I may only send monthly newsletters and record monthly Nobel News episodes. I also decided that releasing a weekly Simply Nobel Podcast episode and Vlog per week may be too much, certainly if I also want to create semi-regular Nobel Cats (http://youtube.com/@nobelcats) and Nobel Soul (http://youtube.com/@nobelsoul) content. Now, I am not only vlogging daily, but I am also attempting to release a short Simply Nobel podcast episode each night! What gives? I am known to act impulsively at times. Last month was a big one, so one may say that I need to take a break. But Iâm starting to feel that itâs now or never! I have taken it relatively easy with my channels over the past few years - For an unemployed person, anyway. I have the time to create now, so create I shall! I Will Not Be a Workaholic This next month, I am practising getting more productive with content creation, and also with my life in general! All while still making my health a priority. I learnt last month that I pushed myself way too hard! Working as much as I did (albeit mostly all behind the scenes) is not sustainable. Neither is vlogging and podcasting daily, but itâs not forever, itâs just for now! Despite my increased workload, I plan on starting my days the right way! No checking YouTube until 12 pm each day. I am only permitting myself to check messages and stats twice per day, and with time, I will check less! I also plan on bulk filming so that I will be able to take days off! Last night was a late one; I slept at 2.30 am again, after editing out the background noise of my spontaneous, late-night podcast episode. During the night, I dreamt about editing! And I woke up bright and early at 7 am. Despite starting my daily content creation journey on a tired note, I am very happy with the way I started the day (more on that in my next vlog!) and that Iâm not using tiredness as an excuse to not create. Donât get me wrong, resting is important! And rest I shall. I do think itâs possible to achieve effortless effort! Over the next month, Iâm permitting myself to let go of perfectionism and to go with the creative flow. See what happens when I stop trying so hard and just have fun with it! I will overcome my habit of obsessing over stats. I will take my time responding to comments, and I will limit my time online. I will also remember to be productive and have a life outside of content creation! I will make my health a priority again. I will share my journey with you as I walk it! Thank you for listening! Felt Like Calling it Quits
Today I felt disheartened, and pissed off for the first time! About my lack of YouTube success. I have been chiselling away for years now, and my renewed channel has less than 300 subscribers. Insane! Itâs starting to get embarrassing at this point. I have reached a point where I donât know if being a YouTuber is what will give me fulfilment (although I canât see myself doing anything else that I would enjoy more!) and where I donât know if Iâm cut out to be a YouTuber. However, instead of feeling sorry for myself and wasting more time procrastinating, I decided to channel my anger and frustration into passion and productivity. Itâs time for me to go big, or go home! Over the next month or two, I am going to attempt to create daily vlogs. Maybe, just maybe, a handful of them will do well, and I will finally start gaining some momentum on my channel! If I can monetise at least one channel within the next year (aiming big here!), that would be amazing! Maybe my 7 years on YouTube will then finally have all been worth it! So buckle up, folks! Itâs time for Heidi to toss her perfectionist and procrastinating ways out the window, and create like she has never created before! Weâre going for quantity over quality, baby! Me simply being me, mistakes and all! Already, my first video about feeling frustrated about my lack of YouTube success is getting more views than my usual upload, which is promising. But itâs still early days! It feels liberating to finally stop being so pedantic where editing is concerned and to just create! I, Heidi Nobel, permit myself, to write freely, to podcast imperfectly, and to let the camera roll, even if I get a little tongue-tied. Time to show the real, perfectly imperfect side of me, and to just have fun creating! Perfectionism can feel very crippling at times, and it can slow the creative flow way down. Done is better than perfect! Letâs go! Get full access to Nobel News at nobelnews.substack.com/subscribe (https://nobelnews.substack.com/subscribe?utm_medium=podcast&utm_campaign=CTA_4)

Being a Content Creator
In my first Simply Nobel podcast episode (https://youtu.be/eklwBcDzpug?si=P2_liQUyOD4pxxtk), I said that I was finally getting clear on my content creation journey đ€ Little did I know that things would get more complicated before they got simpler! Being a creator feels like riding the waves of the ocean Itâs a thrill! One minute youâre up, and all is well in the world again. The next minute, you dive straight into the tumultuous ocean. Unable to make out which way is up and which way is down! đ Over the past 2 weeks, sleep, food and exercise were almost non-existent. I HAD to find my way out of that wild ocean. The problem was, the harder I swam, the deeper I sank! Today, April 22nd, 2025, 6.5 years into my content creation journey, my path ahead is finally clearer. I have had several âAha!â moments. Itâs such a relief! I can bathe on the sand banks once more! đ (That is, until I choose to ride the waves again! But this time, I know I will be a more capable surfer!) My Personalised Surfboard I finally designed and made my very own surfboard! (ie my content creation plan and my YouTube and Substack makeover). (Boy, did I change my mind about the design of my surfboard! đ€Ș I tried my best to design a plain and simple, single coloured one, but the only choice, for me, was to create one with a beautiful multi-patterned design, with all, not just some, of the colours of my soul! đ) Like an artist, I finely chiselled away at my board and made many alterations and enhancements along the way. Finally, I have a beautiful, steady, personally designed surfboard. This time, I know which way I want to surf, and I will be a much more confident surfer! Now itâs just a matter of learning to ride bigger waves! đđđ (https://nobelnews.substack.com/p/welcome-to-my-new-podcast-and-content?utm_source=substack&utm_content=feed%3Arecommended%3Acopy_link) Get full access to Nobel News at nobelnews.substack.com/subscribe (https://nobelnews.substack.com/subscribe?utm_medium=podcast&utm_campaign=CTA_4)

Welcome to Nobel News! How I Built My Substack Publication
Weekly Nobel Newsletter Upon signup, you will receive one weekly Newsletter (https://nobelnews.substack.com/s/whats-new). In it, you will find links to all of my latest YouTube videos, Podcast episodes, and other Nobel News (http://nobelnews.substack.com/). Your weekly news stems from a Section, rather than my Nobel News Publication. I called this section: âWhatâs New?â (https://nobelnews.substack.com/s/whats-new) (https://nobelnews.substack.com/s/whats-new)However, the sender's name is âNobel Newsâ (http://nobelnews.substack.com/) and this is how I will refer to your weekly newsletter. * Everyone is subscribed to my Nobel News Publication by default, but I will avoid emailing posts published here. This is to prevent sending you too many emails! * Nobel News Podcast I also created a separate section for my News Podcast: âNobel Newsâ (https://nobelnews.substack.com/s/nobel-news). This podcast was created after I had the fun idea of turning my newsletters into News Shows! Initially, this âNews Showâ podcast was connected to my weekly newsletter. However, I later decided it would be best to house it separately. Separating Podcast/Newsletter I will occasionally record random âBreaking Newsâ episodes, on top of my weekly newsletters. I want to keep my âOne Newsletter per weekâ promise (unless people choose to subscribe to more than one Nobel Newsletter). I considered having one podcast under my weekly news section and another podcast in a âBreaking Newsâ section, however, from a podcast perspective, it didnât make sense to split off into two related shows. My New Plan Before I hit âSendâ on my weekly newsletter, I will record myself reading it. I will then publish this Nobel News (https://nobelnews.substack.com/s/nobel-news) podcast show, before adding a link to it, for my weekly newsletter subscribers. This way, everyone still gets the option to listen, rather than read, while still only receiving one weekly email đ (Please note: You are welcome to unsubscribe from âWhatâs New?â (https://nobelnews.substack.com/s/whats-new) and subscribe only to âNobel Newsâ (https://nobelnews.substack.com/s/nobel-news) if you prefer). More Freedom to Play I am glad I made the decision to separate my News podcast from my weekly newsletters. It allows me to post as many News Shows as I wish, without the risk of annoying my subscribers. It also gives me the freedom to add images to my standard newsletters, without worrying about how this will affect the appearance of my episodes on other podcasting platforms! Primary Sections Nobel News: (https://nobelnews.substack.com/podcast) Podcast News Show about all Nobel News! Simply Nobel: (http://youtube.com/@simplynobel) Stories and Reflections about Life, Love and Wellness. Nobel Soul: (http://youtube.com/@nobelsoul) Guided Meditations, Sound Baths and Mandala Art. Nobel Cats: (http://youtube.com/@nobelcats) Stories and Videos of My Big Cats and Little Cats. Nobel Shop: (https://nobelnews.substack.com/s/nobel-shop)Soulful Items I Currently Have for Sale. Sub-Sections I list all stories under Simply Nobel (https://nobelnews.substack.com/s/simply-nobel), Nobel Cats (https://nobelnews.substack.com/s/nobel-cats) and the Nobel News Podcast (https://nobelnews.substack.com/s/nobel-news). I may create additional sub-sections in the future. Topics may include creativity, personal and professional development, health and wellness and single life. Nobel News Subscription For more timely Nobel News (http://nobelnews.substack.com/), subscribe to any categories that tick your fancy! To update your subscription preferences, click the Unsubscribe button at the bottom of any Nobel Newsletter or head to your Substack Settings (http://substack.com/settings). IMPORTANT: Ensure the TOP âNobel Newsâ (http://nobelnews.substack.com/) category stays switched on at all times, to prevent being unsubscribed from my entire publication! *Why Nobel News Sections? Aside from covering different topics under different sections, I wanted to give my subscribers the freedom to subscribe and unsubscribe from any newsletter they wish, including my standard weekly newsletter. Subscribers can now unsubscribe from my weekly news (https://nobelnews.substack.com/s/whats-new) updates without unsubscribing from my entire publication (http://nobelnews.substack.com/). *Nobel News Publication Posts You will still receive Nobel News (http://nobelnews.substack.com/) publication posts via your app if thatâs your preferred way to receive newsletters. I will be mindful not to post under the publication too often (thatâs another reason why I created two additional Nobel News sections). Again, you can unsubscribe from the Nobel News Podcast (https://nobelnews.substack.com/s/nobel-news) (and weekly newsletter), not the Publication (http://nobelnews.substack.com/) itself (Unless you choose to unsubscribe from all Nobel News (http://nobdlnews.substack.com/)). All of my Substack newsletters are currently free. However, some future stories and podcasts may become member-only stories. You will be notified about these changes if/when they occur. "Youtube Journey to Date" - Message from @ScandinavianBob 25/04/25
On the 25th of April, I received a kind, supportive message from my subscriber Bob in response to my recent âYouTube Journey to Dateâ (https://youtu.be/fTKR9gzv8uw) video. Bob is a very talented and successful content creator who goes by the name @ScandinavianBob (https://www.youtube.com/@ScandinavianBob) on YouTube. Message from Bob: There's something really special about watching someone grow in both purpose and presence like this over the years. Youâve kept a beautiful balanceâdeep thoughts, quiet strength, and an authenticity thatâs rare on this platform. Itâs inspiring to see how your faith and consistency have shaped your journey. Thanks for sharing not just your progress, but your heart along the way. Keep going, Simply Nobel. Youâre doing more good than you probably realize. Your personality resonates with me. My Response to Bob: Aw! Thank you so much, Bob, for your beautiful, supportive, and heartfelt words. I really appreciate it! đđ I am passionate about this content creation journey, more so now than ever before! I have worked extremely hard these past two weeks, moulding and shaping how I want to move forward on Substack and YouTube. I have already shared a lot of my news via posts, but I will be making a vlog explaining my new content creation plan soon. Things will look quite different in how I present things, but I will strive to always be heart-centred with the content I share. It's good to have a road map - I needed one! But my map still gives me the choice of two complimentary roads to go down each week. I now have clarity, but still freedom with the type of content I wish to make! My content will be more niche-focused, but there will be four monthly niches! Keeps life interesting for all of us. I considered focusing on just one niche, but I can't do it! I have to express all of me and share all of my interests, it's the only way I will enjoy making content for many years to come đ I couldn't help but go into creative details again, haha! You may not see this message, and that's OK. I will share it in one of my upcoming News episodes, along with your beautiful message! Thank you again for your kindness and for being here! "I'm Throwing Out the Rule Book" Response from Subscriber Piyush
Below is a response I received from my kind subscriber Piyush, after he read my Iâm throwing out the Rulebook (https://youtu.be/rZ6uCFGIgQM?si=cGTQKabOnE2ZQH_l) post on my Simply Nobel (http://youtube.com/@simplynobel) YouTube channel. Bear in mind that I had posted many complex, over-analysed messages the week prior. He may have misinterpreted what was meant to be an assertive, triumphant post as a panicked/overwhelmed one, which would be understandable. In any case, his message was a supportive, encouraging one. As it always is. Thank you again for all of your support, Piyush, especially during the most difficult transitional phase of my content creation journey. I have enjoyed our enlightening conversations, amidst the creative storm I found myself in! Response From Piyush Sister, you're thinking way too much about your channels. Just vlog anything anywhere, anytime, whenever you feel itâs worth sharing. Your channels shouldn't feel like a chore or a job. I know, or maybe I don't know because I'm not a vlogger or YouTuber, but I get that it's not easy to manage the channels. But these channels are your way to express your thoughts and feelings, and they're supposed to feel like something you enjoy, and help you understand yourself better. Help with your spiritual and mental clarity and health.. Like when you walk around in nature and parks, and you talk about life and things like a philosopher. You don't always have to talk about your personal life or stories if you ever feel uncomfortable. You can make a vlog under a tree and talk for 10 minutes about how a simple, ordinary process of breathing or beating of our hearts is the most beautiful miracle that it's happening on its own, even when we are not aware of it. Do anything out of joy, even if it seems boring or mundane to others. A simple act of drinking coffee can be the most interesting thing ever. I think having one YouTube channel is more manageable than having multiple channels. Like one channel where you can talk about anything, your cats, your thoughts about life, anything related to spiritual and mental healing or just random moments in your everyday life which are worth sharing. I appreciate your effort and the time you spend on the channels. Take a break or rest or just change your rules and guidelines about your channel whenever you feel like it... Enjoy and find the beauty in the little things in Life! I wrote him a ver long response, but decided it best to write him a shorter one (which ended up being two relatively long messages anyway!) and share my original response in a podcast episode. Here you go, Piyush, youâre welcome! đ (Hope I am pronouncing your name right!) Response to Piyush I went down an unhealthy path these past two weeks. My mental and physical health took a turn for the worst. Old OCD/rumination/workaholic patterns crept back in. I wanted to get clear on things, but in the process, I neglected self-care. I knew it was only temporary, though! I felt an inner calling to push through and pave a clear, new path for myself. It didn't have to be as complicated as I made it, but at least I finally came to some conclusions. I walked LuLu the dog again tonight, twice I cancelled due to my lack of sleep and work obsession. While walking her, I was still completely absorbed in my head about my channel, Nobel Soul, and the content I would share within it (things get complicated when you have three (technically four) channels, are running a Substack account and want to start not one but two podcasts! đ€Ż) Guided Meditations & Creative Videos In the poll I shared a month or two back, people voted for my artwork to be on my other channel. I intended to make Nobel Soul my music, art and poetry channel with guided meditations, sound healing and spiritual discussions on my podcast. I finally decided that I don't want to share videos of my artwork, not regularly anyway. I would rather share photos. I want to offer guided meditations, but again, only occasionally. (I shared in this original message that I would move my meditation podcast and creative videos to my Simply Nobel channel. However, I have since decided that creative videos will go to Simply Nobel (http://youtube.com/@simplynobel), and future guided meditations will go to Nobel Soul (http://youtube.com/@nobelsoul)) Sharing All Parts of Me Now that I have let down the rule book and am broadening the topics for this channel to anything my heart desires, big or small, it makes sense to also share the spiritual/creative side of me on Simply Nobel. I need to stop attempting to chop myself into pieces to please my audience and the algorithm! There's still a part of me that thinks I should move some content to my other channel in future. But I need to get out of the idea that I should create videos on everything I love to do! It's all going to be way too much work. I'm better off creating for the love of it and sharing the odd song, drawing, poem, meditation, or whatever here, rather than putting this pressure on myself that it needs to be a regular thing! I plan to draw and take photos of my art and display them as thumbnails for my guided meditations. Rather than make complex drawing videos and voice-over meditations like I planned to do đ Time to keep it simple! However, I will still share the occasional creative video on Simply Nobel (http://youtube.com/@simplynobel). If my audience doesn't want to see a creative video, they can unsubscribe or not watch it. We're getting there! As for my cats... Yeah, it was probably a mistake moving to this channel after finally gaining over 1000 subscribers and close to 1000 watch hours. I was just really struggling to grow that channel, the cat videos started doing well, but I neglected filming any more of them when I jumped ship to this channel and AGAIN started afresh đ I will continue with occasional cat updates on that channel, but I want to get into the mindset now that I only really have one channel, rather than 4 (I have since decided that I will make use of all 4! Two will be primary and two will be secondary. Simply Nobel will still be my only primary video channel). I will double down on Simply Nobel, otherwise there's no chance I'll ever get it monetised! I'm not chasing money, but it would help. Money is a necessary part of life, and when used wisely, it can help enhance our health and well-being. Today I received another great message from Piyush, this time in response to my podcast episode, where I also read this âIâm throwing out the rulebook!â post. I told him that I was about to record an episode where I read his first comment, so I would include his latest comment also đ Message from Piyush Good! burn down the rule book. Explore, experiment with new things, see where it takes you. change makes you feel alive, but routine is your anchor. Without it you're like a kite without a string. You can explore the entire world, have countless experiences but eventually like birds coming back to their nest at night to rest, you will find comfort in the things you like. To that I responded: Nice! Thank you Piyush đđ Very true re being like a kite without a string if we don't have a stable routine to help keep us grounded đȘđŁ Thank you for listening! I'm Throwing Out the Rule Book!
On the 22nd of April, after almost two weeks of trying to get clear on my YouTube and Podcast niches, I once again came to the conclusion that I donât want to fit into a narrow niche box. Iâm not a one-niche pony! Not now anyway! I need to have room to express the fullness of who I am! My Triumphant Post That's it, guys and girls, I am throwing out the rule book! I once again sat down, scribbling away, trying to get really clear on what I would be offering on my Podcasts vs Channels and what my upload schedule would be. Despite my disconnecting and reconnecting my podcast on Spotify last night from: Health, Love and Life to "Health, Mental Health, Self Help", I can't do it, man! I mean, I could! But I feel it would all become too head-focused and less heart-focused! I would be bumping my head against the wall in no time, just like I have been over the past 2 weeks! I asked myself again: What do I actually want to share with the world? Two things: Stories and reflections about health, love and wellness and videos about mental and physical health and personal and professional development. I then asked myself how I could arrange this content between Simply Nobel and Nobel Soul. But bugger it! This is my personal channel and podcast. The only way I feel like I am improving my mental health and personal development is by sharing whatever topic of the day I wish to talk about! I want to share stories about all of life and share all personal aspects of my being! Life isn't about ticking off a health check report or a to-do list, or becoming an expert in just one thing. If we choose to go down that route, great! But I want to live the Simply Nobel way and rain or shine, just be me. That's it, no academic degree, no one specific topic of expertise, just plain and simple, me! If anything, I would be doing people a disservice by not expressing the fullness of who I am. I don't want to be pigeon-holed or backed into a corner, I want to be free to spread my wings and just be! Make improvements along the way, sure, but I don't want "self-improvements" to be my entire life focus! I have a guideline for when I get stuck: Intention, Creativity, Balance, Reflection. I know what I stand for: Simple, Intentional, Mindful, Honest and Heartfelt living. The rest I will figure out along the way! That's all I really wanna do; tell stories, share goals and tips, reflect on life and love and have fun creating with all colours of the rainbow! Hopefully that's what you would like from this channel too đđ Get full access to Nobel News at nobelnews.substack.com/subscribe (https://nobelnews.substack.com/subscribe?utm_medium=podcast&utm_campaign=CTA_4)

In Order to Find Clarity
This was a response that I wrote to my Subscriber, Mike, on the 16th of April. It gives you a behind-the-scenes glimpse of where I was, one week into trying to get clear on my content creation journey. (The hard work and challenges continued for two weeks after this!) Message to Mike Finally, things are settling down. I could not stop analysing or working! From the outside looking in, my plans for my content creation will look and sound so "simple" but a lot of blood, sweat and tears were put into getting to that point of clarity!! Not just over the past week, but over years of trial and error. I have changed things around multiple times, and last week could be described as another big wave of chiselling away and refining until I finally "figured it out". It's a fun, puzzling experience, one that I can't stop until I have solved it! I don't recommend it, it's not healthy to lay awake all night and not eat much. Yesterday I was going to have an early night but as I was laying in bed, analysing the finer details, I had to get back on the PC and fine-tune my Substack (which I already spent all day and night on!) even further. I'm finally happy with it! I slept at around 3.30 - 4.30 am (not as late or early as the night before!) and I woke up a few times in the morning but kept on snoozing until 1.30 pm! I am feeling alive today, thanks, Mike! My human self is a bit tired and mentally overworked, but I also have this sense of aliveness running through my veins! That is what is driving me to get clear and find the answer as soon as I can. This sense of urgency doesn't always come. It's temporary, which is good. I have the foundations in place, and I feel like I now have a clear guide for which way to move forward on this solopreneur journey. I was on it, but I was walking without a map and was purely working by intuition to help me guide my way. I'm excited to continue to share the journey with you all! The road will be clearer now. But still, I am guided largely by my intuition and higher self. I have a plan, but there's still room to move freely. The Hard Work Has Been Done! Time to Have Some Podcasting Fun!
Wow, That Was Intense! I had the most challenging and productive three weeks in my content creation history! This all began after reading a newsletter by Kristina God (https://substack.com/profile/25243634-kristina-god). In it, she suggested that we turn our Substack Newsletters into Podcast Episodes. Boy, did this great idea open up a can of worms! First, I tried to gain clarity on where I was headed with my YouTube channels, abandoned Substack and soon-to-be-launched Podcast. This alone was a Mastermind of an endeavour! I filled page after page with complex notes. The more I tried to simplify things, the more questions I had! What made things so challenging is that I have more than just one channel and brand name. So I had to get clear on what not one, but all of my channels (and now podcasts!) would offer. I also had to find a way to join the dots and connect everything into one, comprehensive Heidi Nobel package! I Thought I Had It All Figured Out Multiple times, I thought I had done the hard yards and could now start creating! I managed to release my very first podcast episode (https://open.substack.com/pub/nobelnews/p/welcome-to-my-new-podcast-and-content?r=5ivvzg&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web&showWelcomeOnShare=false), sure. But I was fooling myself, thinking I had it all figured out. No, I had merely decided what puzzle I was making! I had pieced together the outer edges, at best! My poor YouTube subscribers put up with post after post! The worst time was when I put up a poll that even I had trouble comprehending! This was all part of the puzzle-making process! There were days when I thought I had found another piece of my puzzle, and I proudly announced this to the world! But alas, the puzzle pieces didnât quite fit. I had to find a smoother connection! Welcome Emails I wrote and finely edited many Substack Welcome Emails. This took up the largest chunk of my time! Piece by piece, I turned my complex novel into a clear, short message that wouldnât scare off my new subscribers! However, two days ago, I dropped another bombshell on myself! I found a newsletter/podcasting solution that would work better for my audience. Unfortunately, this meant I had to give my Substack and Podcast yet another makeover, which meant I had to rewrite my newsletter and home page Welcome messages all over again! My home page's Welcome message is more descriptive than my Welcome newsletter for new subscribers. I will read this in my next podcast episode. Alternatively, feel free to read it here: https://nobelnews.substack.com/p/updated-welcome-newsletter (https://nobelnews.substack.com/p/updated-welcome-newsletter) Subscribe to Nobel News at nobelnews.substack.com to read the short-and-sweet version in your email inbox! đ. Steep Learning Curves Over the weeks, I experienced technical and creative glitches and difficulties. I was locked out of Apple Podcasts Connect, and thought I couldnât connect my podcasts to Apple ever again! Thankfully, this wasnât the case! Last night I was logged out again, but I know that the solution is to be patient, not panic, and in time, the Apple gates will open once more! I have been itching to create more podcast episodes all week, but this was further delayed due to graphic design work I had to fine-tune for Substack, YouTube and my Podcasts. For now, I am happy with what I have achieved! Iâm sure I will continue to fine-tune things as I go, but weâre ready to launch, baby! Just in time for the new month! đ Whatâs to Come In the coming days, I will record and release podcast episodes on my primary YouTube channel Simply Nobel (http://youtube.com/@SimplyNobel). I will read some posts I wrote and received over the past three weeks. This will be a good way for me to warm up my podcasting muscles and acknowledge and say goodbye to the most intense content creation period of my life to date! I am looking forward to no longer working 16 or more hours straight and getting back into a normal sleep/wake schedule. I also look forward to catching up on all of my house chores (hello, giant pile of dishes!) and making healthier food choices (goodbye, once-per-day breakfast, lunch and dinner takeout meal!). I look forward to catching up with friends again; I postponed meetings with two friends this week, as I havenât been in the right headspace to socialise with anyone! I wonât be until I have pressed âreset and recordâ on my new content creation endeavours. Finally, I See the Bigger Picture When we first start a content creation puzzle (or in my case, start a new one), it can look and feel overwhelming! But there is a solution to every puzzle! If we are patient and persistent, slowly but surely, the pieces will all fall into place! Thank you for listening! Turned My Substack Into a News Podcast!
This is the trailer for my new Nobel News podcast. I had a brilliant idea to turn one of my spare YouTube channels into a Nobel News channel! I will be the host who reports on her weekly news. Such fun! đ My mind got even more creative and came up with the idea of including a male voice-over and a news intro. In this trailer, I state that I will share behind-the-scenes news of my daily life and solopreneur journey. However, I have since decided that, for now, all such news will be shared occasionally on my main channel @SimplyNobel. However, I will still share âBreaking Newsâ on my Nobel News podcast/channel. I may turn this into my solopreneur news channel in the future, but for now, I am keeping it âSimpleâ and will put most of my time and effort into my primary channel, Simply Nobel. Here are the links to all of my YouTube Channels: YouTube.com/@SubstackNews Youtube.com/@SimplyNobel Youtube.com/@NobelSoul YouTube.com/@NobelCats See you there! đ Get full access to Nobel News at nobelnews.substack.com/subscribe (https://nobelnews.substack.com/subscribe?utm_medium=podcast&utm_campaign=CTA_4)

Welcome to My New Podcast and Content Creation Journey
It has been a long, six-and-a-half-year journey to finally reach todayâs new milestone: the official launch of my first podcast and a more straightforward path forward for my YouTube, Substack and Podcast content creation journey. I feel very relieved to finally reach this point of clarity after a lot of blood, sweat and tears over the past six and a half years. I started and changed my niches and YouTube channels many times. I also joined Substack two years ago, and, during this time, I updated my website many times. Yesterday alone, I spent all day and night making the finest tweaks and getting mentally clear on every last detail! Iâm excited to share exactly how I plan to run YouTube, Substack, and this Podcast in the next episode. How It All Began In 2018, I finally managed to gain a $5000 small business start-up grant. Thanks to that, I have the keyboard I am typing on today. It took me a long time to get clear on my path forward (surprise, surprise) and get this grant approved. My initial plan was to focus on makeup artistry. That is the first niche I chose for my first YouTube channel: Fidessa Features. Fidessa is my middle name. Features had three meanings: * The channel featured me. * It was about enhancing our features with makeup * It reminded me of the word âFeature Filmsâ (not that my videos were!) I felt chuffed and clever with the name I chose! Since then, I have been stuck with the Gmail address fidessafeatures@gmail.com. I donât use the email address, but it is what houses all of my YouTube channels. More on them later! Nobel Soul Five months later, I decided (thanks to my mother) that I wanted to become a mandala artist. Yoga would also be a focus of my YouTube channel. I was sharing different name ideas on Facebook, and my old makeup manager, Donna Malneek suggested the name: Nobel Soul. This name felt perfect for me! The meaning I put behind it was that I want everything I do to come from a soulful place. There was a small part of me, however, that thought that people may be put off by hearing the name âSoulâ if they were not spiritually inclined or that they may think I am calling myself a Nobel Soul - Which sounds a bit full of myself. Nonetheless, the name stuck. It came and went over the years, just yesterday, I almost threw it away again, for now at least, but I have found a way to keep this name. I will use it for my new podcast, Nobel Soul, which I hope to launch soon. I will share what this podcast and newsletter will offer in an upcoming episode. Simply Nobel Over the years, my 4 channels (most of which have been abandoned) have gone by many names: Heidiâs Home, Know Thy Neighbour, Nobel Art, Nobel Stitch, Nobel Walk and Nobel Cats (http://youtube.com/@nobelcats), to name but a few. At the end of February last year, I was feeling mentally overwhelmed and struggling with insomnia, just like I have been this past week! But like today, clarity came once the storm had passed. The storm was needed to discover what I needed to embrace and what message I had to share with the world. The new channel name I came up with was Simply Nobel (http://youtube.com/@simplynobel). Something happened that morning that felt like a sign that I was on the right path and had chosen the right channel name and niche for this channel. The message of Simply Nobel is to keep things simple and appreciate the simple things in life. I love living a simple life, itâs when I feel like my happiest and most authentic self. I still sweat the small stuff and overcomplicate things, but I strive to live and think more simply. The last week has been anything but simple. However, I was determined to design a simple, clear path to help me move forward in a healthier, more purposeful direction. It was worth the maze my mind had to work through. Piece by piece, I was figuring it out. I was starting to see the picture! I have finally created a Simply Nobel path. My renewed journey starts today! Thank you for reading or listening to my very first podcast story! In the next episode, I will share exactly what I have planned for my Substack, Podcast and YouTube journey. I havenât figured everything out yet, I am still learning as I go. But I have a clearer idea of how I want to manage my time and what I want to share with my viewers and listeners. Thank you so much for being here and supporting me on this Simply Nobel and Nobel Soul journey. Yours sincerely, Heidi Nobel Get full access to Nobel News at nobelnews.substack.com/subscribe (https://nobelnews.substack.com/subscribe?utm_medium=podcast&utm_campaign=CTA_4)
