No True Bill: The Nolan Wells Case

On July 4, 2026, 18-year-old Nolan Xavier Wells traveled by boat with friends to Horn Island off Mississippi’s Gulf Coast. He did not return to the mainland with them. After an extensive search, his body was discovered near the island on July 6. The circumstances surrounding Nolan’s death raised difficult questions for his family and the public. Although the grand jury reviewed witness testimony, digital records, videos, and forensic evidence, it ultimately returned a “no true bill,” meaning no one was indicted. In this episode of Noir Tales Podcast, we examine the timeline, the evidence, the grand jury’s decision, and the questions that remain about what happened to Nolan. Because behind every investigation is a life, a family, and a story that deserves to be heard.
