Kaylub Giamanco, the Bend father of two Silver Rail students who went in and stopped the shooter, finally spoke out (OPB, Oct 23): "I'm sorry, I have to go in. People are going to die." Joshua opens with Kaylub's own words and asks why the media can't spin this one: a lawful carrier, a neighbor, "just a carpenter from Bend, Oregon." Since the shooting, 204 people have signed up to start the concealed handgun license process with the Deschutes County Sheriff's Office (KTVZ, Oct 22), and DCSO added a class on Saturday, Nov 14 (7 a.m.–noon, $150).
