<p>In this episode, you will meet&nbsp;Michael Riegler, who is a Norwegian researcher in AI with Austrian roots.&nbsp;He is&nbsp;working as a lead researcher at the Simula Metropolitan Center for Digital Engineering (SimulaMet).</p> <p>Michael is a highly engaged researcher who wants to&nbsp;give something back to society.&nbsp;Much of his science is focused on the use of AI in health-related research. He has worked on medical applications in colonoscopy, cardiology, mental health and artificial human reproduction and much more.</p> <p>In this podcast you can&nbsp;hear about how&nbsp;Michael is creating&nbsp;artificial children using VR and AI and&nbsp;his experiences with language models such as&nbsp;GPT-3. We will discuss open science, the importance of open datasets and the role of synthetic data. We also discuss&nbsp;transparent, explainable&nbsp;and interpretable&nbsp; AI, the trends in AI and the&nbsp;future of education within AI.</p> <p>He is part of the Young Academy of Norway (initiative for The Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters), several white papers on AI and ethics, AI and health, recently for the Norwegian AI in health sector.</p>

Episode 6 - Jim Tørresen forklarer roboter

<p>I denne episoden av podcasten NORA forklarer kunstig intelligens har vi med oss Jim Tørresen. Han er&nbsp;professor i informatikk ved Universitetet i Oslo&nbsp;og en av Norges storheter innen roboter og kunstig intelligens. Han er utdannet innen datamaskin- arkitektur og -design ved NTNU. I 2006 var han med på å etablere forsknings- gruppen “Robotikk og intelligente systemer”, som han har ledet siden 2007. Han har vært gjesteforsker ved Kyoto University i Japan, og&nbsp;gjesteprofessor ved Cornell University i USA.</p> <p>Tørresen&nbsp;interesserer seg for maskinvaredesign, maskinlæring, kunstig intelligens og robotikk, og å se på bruken av slik teknologi innen ulike anvendelsesområder.&nbsp;Han er en av de få som både forsker på maskinlæring, robotikk, anvendelse, bioinspiserert teknologi, etikk, og juss. Han har også vært involvert i populærvitenskapelig formidling gjennom foredrag og å skrive en populærvitenskapelig bok – “Hva er kunstig intelligens”.</p>
