<div>Marine environment consultant and honourary life member of Surfers Against Sewage, Atlanta Cook talks sewage, plastics and fatbergs - and what we can do to help. Hayley and Kirsten reflect on what we can do day-to-day to live more ethically and support the environment - in a way that adds more meaning and joy to life.<br> <br> Atlanta Cook started her marine conservation adventure in 1991 helping organise <a href="http://www.sas.org.uk">Surfers Against Sewage</a>'s first Brighton photo shoot and fund-raiser. She was an SAS Brighton Media Rep and set up SAS North Devon which successfully campaigned for the building of Baggy Point Sewage Treatment Works at Croyde Bay. She became a Director of SAS in 2000 and remained in post until the birth of her daughter. SAS named her an Honorary Life Member in 2005 and she continues the original ‘Campaign for Clean Seas’ to this day. She became Co-ordinator of Seas at Risk Federation, an international federation of marine environment NGOs in 2001 and has been an independent marine environment consultant since 2004. <div>Kirsten Chick is a nutritional therapist, educator, author and speaker. Qualifying in 2003, she offers a nourishing, effective and empowering approach to nutrition, which she shares in one-to-one consultations, in the classroom and in her book, Nutrition Brought to Life.</div> <div><br> </div> <div>Kirsten has taught at several colleges over the years, and currently leads modules in nutrition, holistic living and pathophysiology to degree students at East Sussex College. She has also written and delivered modules for specialist courses in Menopause, Fertility and Integrative Oncology, and spoke at last year's Your Life and Cancer conference. Kirsten still holds her own workshops and short courses on various health-related topics, alongside running a busy nutrition practice.</div> <div> <br> Kirsten's book, Nutrition  Brought to Life, was published in August 2020 and has been well received, including by Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall who said "I was really delighted to come across Nutrition Brought to Life by Kirsten Chick, which is clearly tuned in to the latest scientific evidence on diet, and also feels inspiring, compassionate and achievable for the reader. <div>Hayley North &amp; Kirsten Chick talk herbs, have an inspiring conversation with Barbara Wilkinson from <a href="https://herbsociety.org.uk/">The Herb Society</a>, and then share a recipe and the nutritional benefits of parsley.<br> <br> Following a lifelong passion for health and nutrition, Barbara qualified as a Consultant Medical Herbalist in 2012. She is a member of the College of Medicine and Integrated Health, and runs The Springfield Clinic of Natural Healing in Cheshire. Barbara is an advocate of cultivating the use of plants in everyday life and keen to empower people with the confidence to embrace food as medicine. As well as running her own practice, Barbara is a Trustee for The Herb Society and has appeared as a guest speaker at numerous events and conferences. She has an allotment, where she grows produce that is used for medicines within the practice, and has worked with The Herb Society on designing gardens for the RHS Flower Show Tatton Park. In 2018, she appeared in the BBC’s coverage of the RHS Flower Show, as part of a special segment looking at fermented foods. She recently supported Horticulturist Alys Fowler in producing her new book A Modern Herbal.</div>
