[…] All of the three top producing states realized a slight increase in the second quarter of 2026. Rig count by state and basin. Reminder, these are the Baker Hughes average rig count numbers. The October total US rig count at 603 rigs is up slightly, up 12 from the September, reporting at about 591. That 47% of those rigs are in Texas. The North Dakota rig count is also trended up in October, reporting 31, up three from 28 in September. Rigs by basin, there are 35 total rigs running in the Wilson Basin, representing four of those are over in Montana. 274 rigs in the Permian being Texas and New Mexico. […]
