Welcome to 'Not Every Witch,' the solo show where I, Michael Blackthorn, dive into the magical intersection of witchcraft, astrology, tarot, and herbalism—served with a twist that keeps things anything but ordinary.
Each week, we’re shaking (or should I say stirring) up the cauldron with practical spells, tarot insights, rituals, and tips to help you blend witchcraft with your everyday life. Whether you’re balancing a busy career or spending your nights under the moon, this podcast is for witches who know that not every path looks the same—and that’s where the real magic lies.
With a passion for the craft and a knack for keeping it real, I’m here to break the rules, challenge the norms, and offer you a fresh perspective on how to make your magic truly your own. So, if you’re ready to embrace your inner witch and stir things up, tune in every Wednesday. Because 'Not Every Witch' plays by the rules—and neither do I.
Ask a Witch: Community Questions, Insights and Advice
In this engaging conversation, I explore various aspects of witchcraft, including community engagement, the importance of mindful disposal of ritual remnants, and the nuanced understanding of protection in magical practices. I address the challenges faced by practitioners with chronic health conditions and emphasizes the need for a solid foundation in spell work. The discussion also critiques the notion of intention in witchcraft, advocating for action and collaboration with various energies. Throughout, I try to encourage openness to learning and adapting one's practice, fostering a supportive community for witches.

Dark Moon vs. New Moon – Endings, Beginnings, and the Power In Between
You’ve heard it before—“Manifest on the New Moon!” But what if that advice is more fluff than fact?
In this episode of Not Every Witch, we’re cracking open one of the most misunderstood lunar truths: the difference between the Dark Moon and the New Moon. Spoiler alert—they are not the same. And if you’ve ever felt like your spellwork during the New Moon fizzles out faster than your last candle stub... you’re not alone.
We’ll dig into:
What the Dark Moon actually is (and why it’s not just “the night before the New Moon”)
Why timing your spells with lunar phases matters
How ancestral wisdom, astrology, and witchcraft all point to the same truth: magic has rhythm
The real power of pausing before you plant—and why rushing into manifestation can backfire
And how this particular lunation, with a Dark Moon moving from Pisces into Aries and a New Moon in Aries right before Taurus season, is the perfect time to release, reset, and rebuild
Whether you’re a lunar witch, astro nerd, or just someone tired of vague advice with no backbone—this episode will give you the insight and clarity to align your magic with real cosmic timing.
So grab your Cosmic Caffeine, and let’s stir the cauldron.
Because some witches wait for the light...
But Not Every Witch is afraid of the dark.
