About not so perfect by Daizy

#daizynsp

#23 “There Are Foreigners Everywhere.” A Comment That Made Me Think

“There are foreigners everywhere.” It was just a passing comment I overheard at the beach, and I don’t think it was meant to hurt anyone. But as someone who grew up mixed-race in Japan, it made me reflect on what it means to belong, to call a place home, and how easily we can make assumptions based on appearances. In this episode, I share a personal experience and talk about identity, home, and the small moments that stay with us. #daizynsp

#22 The Heart Behind the Music

This episode is inspired by the film Michael. Watching the movie brought back memories of performing Michael Jackson’s songs in musicals when I was a child, and led me to reflect on my own journey as a songwriter. We talk about facing trauma, why songwriting feels like a mirror of who we are, and how our hearts inevitably find their way into the music we create. In this episode, I share what I believe about creating music and the relationship we have with our art. #daizynsp
