   Disconnected, Not Disturbed 💋🖤

This week, we’re talking about boundaries, detachment, insecurity, workplace energy, and learning how to stop giving every situation access to your emotions. And baby… I PASSED my last Mother-Baby exam! 😭😂💅🏽 Thank you to every prayer warrior who had me covered — but please do NOT take my name off the list yet because another exam is already loading. Nursing school gives you about seven minutes to celebrate before the next chapter slides in like, “Hey girl.” 😂 🖤 Current Watch I watched Crystal Lake on Peacock and really liked it. Give me creepy, suspenseful, questionable horror-movie decisions, and a dark fall vibe — I’m seated. 😂 💋 Disconnected, Not Disturbed The real conversation this week is about learning how to detach from environments, conversations, and people that consistently put you in a negative space. Not avoiding responsibilities. Not being disrespectful. Not refusing necessary communication. Just realizing: Everything does not deserve a reaction. Sometimes the answer is simply: “Okay. Now I know.” And then you move accordingly. 💼 Professional Does Not Mean Fake You can be professional without pretending to be close to everybody. You can: do your job communicate handle your responsibilities treat people with respect …and still decide certain people do not get personal access to you. We are coworkers. We do not have to brunch. 😂💅🏽 My rule? Detach from the drama. Not the responsibility. 👀 Watch the Patterns If somebody constantly talks about everyone else behind their back, pay attention. You do not always need: a confrontation an investigation a PowerPoint exhibits A through G 😂 Sometimes noticing the pattern is enough. Adjust access accordingly. 💎 Confidence Is Not the Problem Insecurity that gets projected onto other people disturbs me. If somebody else knowing who they are makes you uncomfortable, that may be something you need to work through. Do not down somebody because they are confident. Do not call self-assurance arrogance just because it makes you uncomfortable. And baby… It is not my fault you need a battery pack to push through. Recharge. 😂💅🏽 🧠 Boundaries + Accountability Boundaries do not mean you are always right. You can stand on what you feel and still ask: “Could I have handled that better?” That is grown. Confidence and accountability can exist at the same time. 🐈⬛ New Baby Loading I’m getting an all-black girl kitten this week, right in time for Halloween. 🖤🐈⬛ Now I need a chic little name worthy of the moment. Noir? Onyx? Velvet? Raven? Wednesday? Send suggestions because baby… Fluffy is not happening. 😂 🎂 Good Energy Only I got to spend time with my girls and celebrate Mel’s birthday, and it reminded me how different healthy energy feels. There is something special about being around people where you can simply exhale. No calculating. No performing. No wondering who is going to repeat what. That kind of friendship fills your cup. 🏡 Home Decor Update Home decor shopping has been a SUCCESS. 🏡✨ The vision is coming together: Peaceful. Warm. Collected. Comfortable. Intentional. You can be professional without being fake. You can be kind without being personally available. You can notice the pattern without announcing it. You can let people misunderstand you without exhausting yourself trying to correct the story. Do your job. Keep your word. Own your mistakes. Treat people with basic respect. Protect your peace. And move accordingly. Because sometimes the chicest response really is: “Okay. Now I know.” Fix your lip gloss… And continue your day. 😂💋✨ This week’s question: What have you learned to detach from because it no longer deserves access to your peace? And please send kitten-name suggestions too. 🐈⬛🖤 📧 Contact: Rakediab87@gmail.com (mailto:Rakediab87@gmail.com) Detach from the drama. Not the responsibility. 💋🖤✨

Life Been Lifeing… But Baby, Look at the Good 💋🍂

I know I disappeared again 😂 but baby… life has been LIFEING. I’ve been locked in studying for my next Mother-Baby exam, trying to work, be a mom, have a life, and somehow remember to sleep. So if I go quiet sometimes, don’t take it personally — your girl is somewhere with a highlighter, notes, and a prayer. 😂 But even in the middle of the stress, there has been so much GOOD happening. 🍓 TikTok Made Me Do It I finally tried the viral beef gelatin fruit snacks and baby… They are actually GOOD. 😂 TikTok gets us with a lot of nonsense, but this one delivered. 📺 Current Watch I watched the new Carrie series on Prime and loved it. 🖤 Give me dark, dramatic, a little unsettling, and enough fictional chaos to let my brain clock out after studying. 💍 Congratulations, Sherita! My friend Sherita is ENGAGED! 💍💜 I am genuinely so happy for her. She deserves every bit of happiness coming her way, and I’m already excited to celebrate at the wedding. 🎂 Celebrating My Bestie My best friend Mel is celebrating her 72nd birthday, and yes… you heard that correctly. 😂💜 She’s Caucasian, I’m Black, we’re from different generations, and somehow life decided: “Yep. These two belong together.” And baby, it was RIGHT. I adore her little self and I’m so grateful for everything I’ve learned from her — especially just watching how she lives, carries herself, enjoys life, and moves through the world. This weekend I finally get to see my girls, catch up, laugh, and celebrate her properly. 🎷 Proud Mama Moment Nash had his first concert and it was AMAZING. 😭🎷💜 Watching your child get up there and do something they love is one of those moments that makes all the running around worth it. And now he’s also applying to the Young Men’s Leadership Academy, so we’re excited to see where that opportunity leads. 🍂 Happy Fall! We are officially in the fall era and I am so happy about it. Cozy nights. Good drinks. Football. Shows. Candles. Holidays getting closer. Give me all of it. 🍂💋 💜 Girl… Remember Life does not have to be perfect for it to be good. You can be stressed in one area and still have so much joy happening around you. You can be tired and grateful. Busy and happy. Struggling with one thing and thriving somewhere else. Sometimes you just have to stop and look around long enough to notice: Baby… there is still so much GOOD happening. So celebrate your people. Take the break. Watch the show. Try the TikTok snack. 😂 Handle your business… but don’t forget to enjoy your life while you’re handling it. And please wish your girl MUCH luck on this next Mother-Baby exam because baby… I NEED IT. 😂💋 📧 Contact: Rakediab87@gmail.com (mailto:Rakediab87@gmail.com)

Romanticize the Life You Have 💋🍂

Build the life now. Don’t wait for the perfect version of it. This week, we’re talking about learning to enjoy the life you have while you’re still building the next version of it. Because baby… if I wait until Acute Med-Surg cardiovascular stops stressing me out to enjoy myself, apparently I will never know peace again. 😂🫀 We’re getting into the little things making life feel good right now: thrifting pieces for the new home, planning a train ride to New York, building a real “second-home” routine in the city, Fleetwood Mac in the music rotation, pumpkin chai tea, vampire obsessions, and one very proud mama moment. 💋🍂 🏡 New Home Energy The new-home season is getting very close, and I’m not trying to create a showroom — I’m creating a home. Think: thrifted pieces a little luxe collected, warm, intentional personality over price tags Style has never been about the receipt. It’s about the eye. 🚆 Building a Life in NYC I’m planning a train ride to New York, and I want more than a tourist itinerary. I’m building my own little New York life: favorite coffee shop breakfast café lunch + dinner spots Trader Joe’s locations 😂 bookstores jazz spots neighborhoods I love little routines that make the city feel familiar I don’t just want destinations anymore. I want routines in places I love. 🎷 Proud Mama Moment Nash auditioned for jazz band AND honor band… and HE MADE THE CUT! 😭🎷💜 Little Mozart is outside! I’m so proud of him, and watching him grow in something he genuinely loves has been one of those reminders to stop and celebrate what’s happening right now. 🧛🏽♀️ Current Obsession I just finished Interview with the Vampire on Netflix and I am OBSESSED. 😂🖤 Now I’m moving on to the Lestat series because apparently one dose of fictional vampire chaos was not enough. The drama. The darkness. The wardrobe. The centuries-old grudges. I am seated. 🍂 Pumpkin Chai Has Entered the Chat Pumpkin chai tea is officially in the beverage rotation… And baby, she is not visiting. She has a key. 😂🍂 If it tastes like pumpkin, chai, cinnamon, maple, or fall leaves with ambition… put it in my cup. 🎶 Current Music Rotation Fleetwood Mac has officially entered the rotation. It’s giving:
train-window energy, fall air, oversized sweater, coffee in hand, main-character behavior while literally just going to Trader Joe’s. 😂💅🏽 🧠 Today’s Sponsor: BetterHelp This episode is sponsored by BetterHelp. Because building a beautiful life isn’t only about how it looks. It matters how it feels to live in it. Life can be a lot — school, work, relationships, motherhood, goals, transitions — and sometimes having a space to talk through what you’re carrying can be part of taking care of yourself too. Sponsor information will be included with the episode. 💋 Girl… Remember Stop putting your happiness on layaway. You do not have to wait until: graduation the perfect house more money a calmer schedule the next version of you …to start enjoying your life. You are allowed to love the construction phase. Thrift the piece. Drink the pumpkin chai. Take the train. Find your coffee shop. Play Fleetwood Mac. Watch the vampire show. Celebrate your child. And unfortunately… Study the cardiovascular system. 😂🫀 Romanticize your life, but respect your season. The life is still becoming… and baby, it can still be beautiful while it does. 💋🍂✨ 📧 Contact: Rakediab87@gmail.com (mailto:Rakediab87@gmail.com)
