Every shul has them. Every school depends on them. Every community would collapse without them. But nobody’s interviewing them. (Not) Your Average Jew pulls back the curtain on the unsung heroes of Jewish life . Hosted by Rabbi Elie Weissman and his cousin Andrew Weissman — the self-proclaimed Peppiest Jew in the Pew — this podcast asks the questions that get to the heart of what it really means to be Jewish today: where we came from, what we believe, what we’re passing on, and how we’re holding up. No famous names required. Just real Jews, real stories, and real conversation.
No guest? No problem. For our milestone tenth episode, Andrew and R' Elie are flying solo to look back at the incredible stories, insights, and spiritual journeys we’ve encountered so far on (Not) Your Average Jew.
In this episode, we open up about what we’ve learned about the community, each other, and—most challenging of all—ourselves. Is Elie now 'peppy'? Has Andrew turned cynic?
Tune in for an honest, unfiltered conversation about the bumpy road of self-reflection, the messy reality of self-improvement, and what happens when the interviewers become the interviewees.
