This is Not Your Average School Psychologist Podcast. Hosted by psychologists with the Center for Effective Schools, our goal is to provide a resource for school psychologists to learn about evidence-based practices from a behavioral perspective, with a focus on the implementation of all aspects of the NASP practice model. We want to help school psychologists maximize their impact on the students and communities that they serve.
Intensifying Interventions for Tier 3 with Dr. Matthew Burns
On today’s episode of Not Your Average School Psychologist, Dr. Matthew Burns explains the importance of using assessment tools more intentionally to inform instruction. He shares how to effectively identify student need to allow educators to appropriately intensify interventions, moving away from a reliance on poorly matched interventions and more frequent dosage. He also discusses the importance of effective problem-solving team procedures and multi-tiered systems of support frameworks, as well as information about the newly formed and free-to-join International MTSS Association.
