What if the thing you thought would hold you back is the thing God uses to move you forward?
Brandon Batten serves behind the scenes in our media room every week. In 2023 he lost his wife, Jesslyn, to breast cancer. She was 36, and their daughter had just turned five. This is a story about how one quiet invite changed a family, how a celebration of life led a future pastor to Jesus, how a desperate prayer was answered, and how God redeems what we would never choose.
In Jesslyn's memory, Brandon's family started A Walk to Remember to help uninsured and underinsured people pay for early breast cancer screening. Early detection saves lives.

It's Not Just for Addicts… | Celebrate Recovery | NYTCP | Ep 61
Most people hear "recovery" and think drugs, alcohol, rock bottom. But what if it's pride? People pleasing? Anxiety, shame, or a hurt you've carried for years?
Amy Hester joins Pastor Cory to unpack Celebrate Recovery: what it is, who it's for, and why New Light is opening it up to the whole community every Thursday night at 7. She shares how she found it while walking through a divorce, what a first night looks like, the chips, the 12 steps, and a story of a woman who came in on a holiday night and found hope.
📍 Celebrate Recovery at the Connect Center, 102 N Main St, Bladenboro, NC
🗓️ Thursdays at 7 PM, starting November 5

I Let AI Edit This Episode… | NYTCP | Ep 60
How many apps are on your phone right now? How many do you actually use?
If you're like me, you saw an ad, downloaded it, used it twice… and forgot it existed. But there are a handful of tools I use every single day for church, ministry, and family. And a few weeks ago, one of them changed how this podcast gets made.
In this episode I walk through my four categories of tools:
• Stay organized: Calendar, Todoist, Notes
• Store & share: Dropbox and Google Drive (free for nonprofits!)
• Create: Adobe and DaVinci Resolve
• Think & do: ChatGPT, Claude, and the daily routine that keeps me from dropping the ball
Plus the DADS lens: Delete, Automate, Delegate, Schedule. It's a simple filter that frees you up to do the work only you can do.
