When softness touches the place you learned to ignore

That is what this podcast episode is about.

The moment when softness opens a door, and behind that door is the hunger you folded away or postponed into “later.”

But the nervous system does not heal in later.

And the heart does not stop wanting because you postponed it.

This episode is not self-help fluff.

It is not healing woo-woo.

It is a precise, intimate look at why pleasure sometimes makes us ache, and how to listen to that ache before it turns into shame, panic, or another pattern.

And when you listen, notice what touches you.

Not what sounds impressive.

What touches you.

That is usually where the real doorway is.

With devotion,Camilla

This is a public episode. Capacity Expansion Begins Where Your Nervous System Says No

You know that moment when the life you say you want starts happening?

Not as a dream anymore. Not as a beautiful fantasy you can visit when everything feels too small.

But as decisions. Visibility. Money. Responsibility. People depending on you. A calendar that suddenly reflects the size of your desire.

And instead of feeling expanded and ready, your body says:

Absolutely f*****g not.

Your emotions riot.Your mind starts spinning.Your nervous system reaches for the nearest exit. And the dream that felt so alive yesterday suddenly feels like a threat.

That’s what this episode is about.

The moment when wanting more meets the part of you that does not yet feel safe holding more.

Some people call this capacity expansion.

I refuse to treat capacity expansion like a mindset hack.

So in this episode we meet it as an embodied threshold.

Because it is one thing to have a dream. It is another thing to sit down with the spreadsheets, the emails, the launch plan, the conversations, the details, and feel your whole nervous system and your mind shouting:

This is too much.I don’t know how to hold this.I don’t know how to become this person.

And that’s where the real work begins.

Not in the fantasy. Not in the vision board. But in the moment where your future starts asking things of you.

This episode was recorded from that exact place in me. On the couch, in fear, looking at the size of what I desire and realizing that my nervous system had reached an edge.

And instead of pushing through, I sat with the part of me that was afraid.

Not like a coach.Not like a motivational quote.But like someone I love.

Because fear does not always mean no.Contraction does not always mean stop.Overwhelm does not always mean your desire was wrong.

Sometimes it simply means:

This is new. This matters. We have not held this much before. Please go slowly enough that I can come with you.

That, to me, is the beginning of capacity expansion.

Not becoming fearless. But becoming less afraid of being afraid.

Not abandoning the trembling parts. But learning how to bring them with you, without letting them drive.

In this episode, I’m talking about what happens when the life you want becomes real enough to require you, and how we can begin to hold more desire, more visibility, more responsibility, more pleasure, more truth, and more aliveness without leaving ourselves behind.

Listen when you have a quiet moment.

And before you do, maybe place a hand somewhere on your body and ask gently:

What part of me is afraid of the life I say I want?

Not to fix it.Not to analyze it.

Just to begin listening.

Because listening is where safety begins. And safety is where expansion becomes possible.

My name is Camilla Wellton

I’m a mom, a lover of beauty, a multiskilled designer and I’m the creator of the sensual hero’s journey. If something painful happens and you can’t fall apart...

There’s a kind of pain that doesn’t explode.

It doesn’t scream.

It doesn’t ruin your life.

It just… stays.

It shows up quietly.

When you’re alone at night.

When someone touches you and you feel slightly elsewhere.

When something good happens, and it lands flatter than it should.

This isn’t dramatic trauma.

It’s unfinished physiology.

When something overwhelming happens and you can’t fight, can’t leave, can’t fully feel it, your nervous system adapts.

Adaptation is brilliant.

But adaptation is not completion.

If your body mobilizes, heart racing, muscles tight, ready to act, and that action gets blocked, the energy doesn’t disappear. It gets held.

If something painful happens and you can’t fall apart because you have to stay functional, the shutdown doesn’t complete either.

What can’t move through, stays in the background.

Not loud.

Just a hum.

That hum might feel like:

A tight throat when you try to be vulnerable.

A heaviness in your chest when you slow down.

A subtle distance from pleasure.

A quiet sense that something is missing.

You might call it personality.

But often it’s protection.

Protection that never got released becomes identity.

You think, “This is just how I am.”

But often it’s, “This is how I learned to stay safe.”

Here’s something important:

The ache often resurfaces when life gets safer, not more dangerous.

You slow down, and instead of relief, you feel heaviness.

You enter a stable relationship, and grief rises.

You achieve something, and feel emptiness instead of joy.

Nothing is wrong.

Your body is trying to complete something old.

Completion needs two things at the same time: activation and safety.

You have to feel the emotion, and feel safe enough not to be overwhelmed by it.

Insight alone isn’t enough.

Understanding why it hurt doesn’t finish the cycle.

The body needs a new experience.

It needs to feel and survive differently.

This work is subtle.

It looks like staying with sadness ten seconds longer than you usually would.

Letting anger move through your chest without suppressing it or acting it out.

Allowing someone to see your vulnerability without immediately stabilizing them.

Small increments.

Repeated.

That’s how baseline shifts.

And slowly, the ache softens.

Not into euphoria.

Into capacity.

You can feel more without bracing.

Connect without pre-withdrawing.

Experience pleasure without waiting for it to disappear.

The ache stayed because you survived.

Your system did exactly what it was designed to do.

Protect you.

Now you don’t need to erase it.

You don’t need to shame it.

You just need to meet it.

Take a breath.

Notice if there’s a subtle tone in your body right now.

Not dramatic. Just a background hum.

That’s not your enemy.

That’s where the next movement begins.

If this gave you relief, there’s more of that to be had darling.

Visit my site I Awake for more!

If you live in Stockholm, and you are a woman, I want you to feel very invited to join me on The Motherhole gatherings held at the sensual institute.

Visit The Motherhole

And The Sensual institute

This is a public episode.
