Nowata Methodists a body of believers belonging to the United Methodist Church in the Oklahoma Annual Conference. We are located in downtown Nowata, Oklahoma, where we seek to engage our community through a variety of ministries to reach outside our doors, by worshipping together, and by teaching adults and children how to talk about their faith.

As we begin our study of Lamentations, we explore the often-overlooked spiritual practice of lament. Through the destruction of Jerusalem, Scripture shows us how to bring our grief, questions, and pain honestly before God without losing hope.
In this message, we look at what it means to grieve faithfully, why asking God “How long, O Lord?” is not a sign of weak faith, and how lament helps us trust God even when we don’t understand our circumstances. We are reminded that faith doesn’t require us to hide our sorrow, and that the church should be a place where we can mourn with one another.
As we enter the season of Advent, we remember that Christian hope does not deny suffering. It teaches us to face it honestly while trusting in the God who promises to make all things new.

The End Is Not The End
In the final chapter of Jeremiah, we see that even after the destruction of Jerusalem and the exile of God’s people, the story is not over. Through a small glimpse of hope, we are reminded that God’s promises remain true even when circumstances seem hopeless.
In this message, we explore the meaning of Christian hope through Jeremiah 52, Romans 8, and Revelation 21. From the preservation of David’s line to the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the promise of a new creation, Scripture reminds us that suffering, loss, and death do not have the final word.
As we conclude our journey through Jeremiah, we are reminded that what appears to be the end may simply be the end of one chapter. Because Christ is risen, there is always hope.

The New Covenant
In Jeremiah 31, we move from judgment to hope as God promises a new covenant with His people. This passage points forward to Jesus Christ, whose death and resurrection establish the new covenant and bring forgiveness, restoration, and transformation.
In this message, we look at what it means for God’s law to be written on our hearts, how the Old and New Testaments point to one unified story of redemption, and why Christians can have hope even in the midst of suffering and uncertainty.
Sin is real, but grace is greater. Our failures are real, but God’s faithfulness is greater. Because Christ has come, there is hope.
