It provides an authentic summary of the victories and crises experienced by the Bab and Baha'u'llah and their faithful followers . Breaking the first century of the Faith into four distinct periods -- Dispensation of the Bab , Dispensation of Baha'u'llah , Dispensation of Abdul Baha and the rise of the Baha'i Administrative Order -- Shoghi Effendi describes the processes by which the Faith of Baha'u'llah emerged from obscurity despite the determined and prolonged destructive campaigns by the two most powerful Islamic States of Shia and Sunni Islam (Iran and the Ottoman Turks) to suppress and obliterate this Faith. Here is a history of our times filled with love and happiness , of vision and hope , telling of triumphs gained and wider triumphs yet to come . It speaks also of the darkest tragedies , sorrows and grief suffered as well as of supreme sacrifices ,of exemplary courage and heroism of the early believers - God intoxicated lovers of this Faith.
