Episode 9: 9/11
On September 11, 2001; a series of coordinated terrorist attacks forever changed the course of American history. Two hijacked airplanes struck the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in NYC, causing their eventual collapse, while another plane crashed into the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. A fourth hijacked plane, United Flight 93, heroically crashed in a Pennsylvania field after passengers fought back against the hijackers. The events of 9/11 resulted in the loss of nearly 3,000 lives and left countless others injured physically and emotionally. This day not only marked an unprecedented act of terrorism on American soil but also had profound global implications, shaping international politics, security measures, and public perception for years to come. 9/11, remains a solemn reminder of the human capacity for both cruelty and resilience. It has led to a lasting commitment to remember the victims, honor the heroes, and work towards a safer and more compassionate world.
