<p>Die 16. Staffel der Bücherbox widmet sich drei von Shakespeare inspirierten Romanen von Maggie O'Farrell, Margaret Atwood und M. L. Rio. </p><p>Dass William Shakespeare nach wie vor einen großen literarischen Einfluss hat, zeigt sich auch daran, dass zahlreiche zeitgenössische Autorinnen und Autoren sich von seinem Werk oder seinem Leben inspirieren lassen. So auch die US-amerikanische Autorin M. L. Rio, die am Londoner King's College einen Master in Shakespeare Studies erworben hat und dieses Wissen in ihrem 2017 veröffentlichten Debütroman „If we were Villains (Wenn aus Freunden Feinde werden)“ gekonnt einsetzt.</p><p>Diese Episode ist der 3. Rio. </p><p>Die Faszination für Shakespeare und seine Werke ist auch mehr als 400 Jahre nach dem Tod des englischen Dichters ungebrochen. Das zeigt sich nicht zuletzt in den Romanen bedeutender Autorinnen und Autoren, die sich auf ganz unterschiedliche Weise von Shakespeare inspirieren ließen. Darunter auch Margaret Atwood, deren Roman „Hexensaat“ eine Neuinterpretation von „Der Sturm“ ist. </p><p>Diese Episode ist der 2. <p>Die 16. Staffel der Bücherbox widmet sich drei von Shakespeare inspirierten Romanen von Maggie O'Farrell, Margaret Atwood und M. L. Rio. </p><p>William Shakespeare gilt als einer der meisterforschten Autoren, dennoch ist über seine Person und sein Leben kaum etwas bekannt. Dank Taufeinträgen wissen wir, dass er Vater von Zwillingen war: Judith und Hamnet. Hamnet starb im Alter von 11 Jahren. Wenige Jahre später schrieb Shakespeare eine seiner wohl berühmtesten Tragödien. Die irische Autorin Maggie O'Farrell hat entlang dieser spärlichen Fakten einen poetischen Roman geschrieben, in dessen Zentrum Shakespeares Ehefrau Agnes steht.</p><p>Diese Episode ist der 1.
