The cost of saying "NO" to God

Everyone wants to hear from God.

We pray for direction.

We ask for clarity.

We want to know His will for our lives.

But what happens when God tells us something we don’t want to hear?

That’s the tension at the heart of Jonah’s story.

When God called Jonah to go to Nineveh, Jonah ran in the opposite direction. Not because he didn’t hear God clearly, but because he didn’t like what God said.

And if we’re honest, we’ve all been there.

Forgive that person.

Take that step of faith.

Serve.

Give.

Trust Him.

Let it go.

In this message, we explore what happens when we resist God’s voice, rationalize our disobedience, and keep heading in the wrong direction. We’ll see how quickly compromise can become comfortable, how running from God always takes us farther than we intended to go, and why delayed obedience is still disobedience.

The good news is that even when we’ve run from God, He hasn’t run from us.

He’s still speaking.

He’s still pursuing.

And He’s still inviting us to trust Him.

The question is: What will you do when the Word of the Lord comes to you?

You're wearing the wrong thing

Some of us are carrying a weight that God never asked us to carry.

Stress.

Anxiety.

Disappointment.

Fear.

Grief.

Pressure.

We keep waiting for joy to show up, but what if joy isn’t something you find? What if it’s something you choose?

In this message, we explore Isaiah’s promise of the “garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness” and discover why praise is more than a song we sing. It’s a decision we make.

The Apostle Paul endured beatings, prison, shipwrecks, betrayal, and suffering most of us can hardly imagine—yet he still found a way to rejoice. How?

Because praise focuses on God’s faithfulness instead of our circumstances. It reminds us that what we’re walking through is temporary, but God’s Kingdom is eternal.

If life has felt heavy lately, if you’ve been stuck in worry, discouragement, or spiritual exhaustion, this message will challenge you to take a step that may feel unnatural but can lead to real freedom.

You may be wearing the wrong thing.

It’s time to put on praise.

It looked strong...until the storm came.

Some things look solid… until life gets hard.

A relationship.

A career.

A family.

A carefully managed image.

Even faith.

But storms have a way of revealing what we’re really built on.

At the end of the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus tells a story about two houses that looked exactly the same on the outside. Same storms. Same rain. Same wind.

Only one remained standing.

The difference wasn’t what people could see.

It was the foundation underneath.

In this message, we talk about what it actually means to build your life on Jesus—not just hearing His words, but living them out. Because a strong-looking life is not the same thing as a strong foundation.

And when the storm comes, what’s underneath will always be revealed.

The good news?

Jesus wants to help you build something that lasts.
