Episode 105: Account For All God Has Given You!

Thank you for stopping by. Life raises hard questions.Oasis of Hope brings them to God's Word. Hosted by Drs. Johnson and Feyi Obamehinti, this Christian faith and biblicalteaching podcast offers scripture-grounded conversation on the real challenges believers face: spiritual growth, faith, relationships, cultural pressures, and living a kingdom life in a complex and complicated world. Each episode is rooted in prayer, anchored in truth, and offered with pastoral warmth tofollowers of Christ around the globe. Wherever you are in your walk with God, there is hope here! Scripture Reference: “For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods.” (Matthew 25:14) God created humans in His own image and entrusted eachone with talents. These talents require stewardship and management. There is a high calling of responsibility, accountability and stewardship for believers in Jesus Christ when it comes to living out the talents God has given us. InMatthew 25, verses 14 to 30, our Savior, Jesus Christ explains the parable of the talents. He tells a story about a man who went on a long journey and entrusted his money to three servants. He gave each servant a different amountbased on their abilities. Two of the servants used what they were given wisely and doubled it. When the master returned from his journey, they showed him how they had multiplied what he had entrusted to them. The master praised both servants equally, calling them faithful and rewarding them with greater responsibility. The third servant however was afraid (for no reason- he should have told his boss he didn’t want the talent). This third servant did nothing with what he had been given. Instead, he hid it and returned it unused and unchanged. The master rebuked him for wasting the opportunity and taking no action. In episode 105, Drs. Johnson and Feyi Obamehintianswer a linked question from the last episode, on how to know your talents. Talents are treasures and best stewarded just like resources. A steward manages the resources of another. When believers in Christ understand how important it is to steward well all God has given us, there is no room for excuses. We will be about our heavenly Father’s kingdom, using our talents to serve God’s people. Take a listen as Drs. Obamehinti explain the difference of talents, gifts and calling. And the encouragement of how to know the talents God has given you. Whether God has given you, five, two or one talent, use your talents to serve others. God is gloried as we serve His Body with the talents He has entrusted us with. “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light”(1 Peter 2:9, NKJV). As God’s chosen people, we do not want to squander the resources God has given us. In Christ’s Love, Drs. Johnson and Feyi Obamehinti

Episode 104: For God So Loved- Salvation In Jesus Christ Alone!

Thank you for stopping by. Life raises hard questions. Oasis of Hope brings them to God's Word. Hosted by Drs. Johnson and Feyi Obamehinti, this Christian faith and biblical teaching podcast offers scripture-grounded conversation on the real challenges believers face: spiritual growth, faith, relationships, cultural pressures, and living a kingdom life in a complex and complicated world. Each episode is rooted in prayer, anchored in truth, and offered with pastoral warmth to followers of Christ around the globe. Wherever you are in your walk with God, there is hope here! Scripture Reference: “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12 NIV). There was a time that the word, “salvation” carried a heavy weight and was just for “church folks.” That is not the case anymore- the word, “salvation” has become highly celebrated in the public square. And that is great as long as it is exactly what the Bible describes that is being celebrated. If that is not the case, we have a crisis in our culture and a challenge for the church collective (the body of Christ). Salvation is not a mere word to be hijacked for commerce, fame or publicity. Ask any minister of the gospel, spiritual leader or pastor of a congregation and he or she will tell you, salvation and discipleship are primary assignments in the kingdom of God. However, when the word is used blatantly without thought or regard to how much it carries, there is confusion in our culture. Salvation is sacred to the follower of Jesus Christ. The Bible explains it clearly and there is no confusion. Salvation is found in no other person or name, but that of Jesus Christ- the Son of God, who paid the ultimate price on the cross to save mankind. This is why in episode 104 of Oasis of Hope (https://www.podpage.com/oasis-of-hope/episodes/) podcast, Drs. Johnson and Feyi Obamehinti answer the follow up question to the last episode (what is salvation?). If you prayed along with Drs. Obamehinti during the podcast, welcome to the kingdom of God! You are now part of the body of Christ. Be sure and tell someone about your encounter with Jesus Christ. Remember, everyone’s salvation experience or encounter is different. However, the following are the same- the acknowledgement of our need for a Savior, the acknowledgment of our sins, our confession of Jesus Christ as Lord, our believe in our hearts about Jesus’ finished work, and the acknowledgment of eternity with God Almighty. We ask you beloved reader or listener- are you saved? Are you born-again? The Savior of the world- Jesus Christ is knocking on the door of your heart and life- receive Him today! God bless you! In Christ's Love, Drs. Johnson & Feyi Obamehinti

Episode 103- Jesus Christ: The Sure Anchor

Thank you for stopping by. Life raises hard questions.Oasis of Hope brings them to God's Word. Hosted by Drs. Johnson and Feyi Obamehinti, thisChristian faith and biblical teaching podcast offers scripture-grounded conversation on the real challenges believers face: spiritual growth, faith, relationships, cultural pressures, and living a kingdom life in a complex and complicated world. Each episode is rooted in prayer, anchored in truth, andoffered with pastoral warmth to followers of Christ around the globe. Wherever you are in your walk with God, there is hope here! Scripture Reference: “We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, where our forerunner, Jesus, has entered on our behalf. He has become a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek” – Hebrews 6:19-20 We appreciate your continuous engagement within theOasis community. We love hearing how you are growing in Christ and bearing your cross daily as you walk with God in our world. We are grateful to God and count it an honor to serve you, your families and communities. In this episode 103, (https://www.podpage.com/oasis-of-hope/)we discuss the importance of an anchor and hope in God in chaotic times. Just like a ship’s anchor steadies the vessel by sinking its arms into the seabed, so that the ship is not tossed about during turbulent waves, our anchor in Christ steadies our souls and keeps us standing no matter the chaos in ourworld. Let us thank God for this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure! We proceed to discuss how our hearts is the seat of life as Proverbs 4:23 clearly states: “Guard your heart with all diligence, for from it flow the springs of life.” Paying attention to the climate of our hearts and showing up for continuous check-ups with the Holy Spirit is essential to all followers of Christ to live out a life that produces godly fruits and testifies of the indwelling power of God. The fruits that our lives produce either testifies to the light of Christ or satan’s darkness. Let us continue to make room for the light of Christ to shine through our lives for the glory of God! Lastly, we answer the question from one of our Oasiscommunity brethren on how resentment develops and takes root in a heart. Resentment is a root of unforgiveness that becomes a stronghold in the life of a person. It develops in the climate of resisting God’s will. Let us be reminded that God’s will is His entire Word (Bible). To grow in our walk with God,involves a daily surrender to the will of God. With back to school upon us, we pray God’s abundantblessings on families as they prepare for a new school year. We pray for God’s fresh grace on all educators as they impact students’ lives in this new school year. We pray for God’s covering on our communities for this upcoming school year. In Christ's Love, Drs. Johnson & Feyi Obamehinti
