by Obando
DJ / Producer linktr.ee/musicaobando Born in Medellin, Colombia, Obando exhibited a profound affinity for electronic music from a young age. His passion and love for the art form were inherited from his father, who was a pioneer of the "DJ movement" in the 90s in their city. Following in his father's footsteps, Obando embarked on his journey into the DJ world at the tender age of 12, with Dance and House music as his initial influences. Despite his youth, he possessed a strong spirit and an insatiable curiosity for music, which led him to experiment with various music software to delve into music production. Initially, the results were basic rhythms, but with time, they evolved in quality as he incorporated his musical roots and tastes. This rapid progress garnered the attention of prominent figures in the industry, who soon offered him opportunities on different labels and at events around the globe. Continuously exploring new sounds with influences from house, minimal, and techno, while maintaining the delicate balance between exceptional music and dance floor-friendly rhythms, Obando has successfully distinguished himself among the emerging DJ-producers in Colombia. He has become a pioneering artist in the country's underground music scene. Obando's distinctive sound has garnered widespread recognition globally, owing to his style, originality, and high-quality production. Early in his career, he began releasing music on the SCI+TEC label, owned by the Iranian-American DJ and producer, Dubfire, as well as on the Rawthentic Music label, owned by the Canadian artist Carlo Lio, with whom he still collaborates. Thanks to his extensive career and the impact he has made in the industry, Obando currently holds the position of head and resident DJ at the prestigious Salón Amador club in Medellín. He has been an integral part of the club since 2015, making him an expert in the realms of club and festival movements.
