A New Thing Episode 4 The Jacob In Us Series

Being Still Episode # the Jacob In Us Series
Scriptures Psalms 46:10 Matthew 6:25-34 Isaiah 30:15 Being still does not mean doing nothing. That being said as we jump into this episode we discuss how it can be difficult for men to fully submit to God because we're taught to always have the answer since birth and full submission to Gods will renders that mindset irrelevant. Jesus speaks on how the birds are taken care of and how the grass is taken care of and how we will always be taken care of as long as we seek God and the kingdom of righteousness first. Jacob found stillness is his wrestle with God's angel because he got to a point to where nothing else mattered but the blessing he wanted from the angel. We need that type of focus. Just like Jacob struggled with identity before fully surrendering to God, many of us create versions of ourselves to survive, impress others, or protect wounds we never healed from. This episode challenges the difference between who we present to people and who we truly are before God. Society may celebrate appearance and image, but God searches the heart. Hiding behind a mask may gain approval from people, but healing begins when we become honest with God and ourselves. Using 1 Samuel 16:7, Luke 16:15, and Proverbs 28:13, we discuss how confession, vulnerability, and truth are necessary for transformation. The mask may protect your image, but it can also block your growth, relationships, purpose, and intimacy with God.
