Occasion and Purpose (Carlos Calderon Interlude)
<p>Los Angeles is home to a plethora amount of neighborhoods. For the kids and teenagers that live there, gangs, poverty, and a lack of resources, usually forfends them from succeeding. Carlos Calderon was one of those kids who had the first-hand experience with a treacherous environment, but instead of conforming to the stereotypes that were placed upon him, he insisted that he had to create a better situation for himself. His mentors would come from police officers and his family, but more specifically his aunt. His aunt recently just passed away due to Covid-19 and now Carlos must step up for his family like never before. Carlos is using his experiences to not only heal but also change his community for the better. He has plans to start a non-profit organization to steer kids away from gangs and instead get engaged in sports. Come and listen to one of the most inspiring stories of the year as Carlos Calderon gives us his own personal testimony.</p>
