Episode 9 - Card Towers
In this episode, Michael reflects on the struggle of trying to build something from nothing — no money, no credit, and no safety net. He shares the constant pressure of running a business while broke, where expenses pile up faster than progress and every decision feels one step away from collapse.
As the financial strain deepens, his marriage begins to quietly unravel. His wife grows distant, losing faith in him as a provider and ultimately forming a relationship with someone else. At the same time, he faces the loss of his grandfather to COPD, stripping away what little stability remained.

Episode 7 - Homecoming
After returning home from Mexico, Michael set out to build a real life from the ground up. With little more than momentum and determination, he stepped into adulthood faster than he ever expected — landing a job at a mental hospital, learning to navigate constant chaos, and beginning a relationship that quickly grew into something serious.
This episode follows that stretch of rapid change — where responsibility starts to feel real, stability begins to take shape, and life finally seems to be moving forward. But just as things begin to settle, cracks start to form beneath the surface.
By the end of the episode, everything Michael thought was solid is on the verge of being tested. Episode 7 is about momentum, responsibility, and how quickly everything can change.

Episode 6 - El amor en los tiempos de caos
In Mexico, the chaos that once defined Michael’s life began to give way to something unexpected: connection. What started as uncertainty slowly unfolded into moments of warmth — a new romance, a Christmas that felt different than any before, and even a few questionable tattoos marking the experience along the way.
This episode captures that turning point — when life, for the first time in a while, began to feel grounded and meaningful. But with that clarity came a realization: it was time to choose his next path forward, even if it meant walking away from everything he had begun to build.

Episode 5 - La vida loca
Michael was still a teenager when he landed in Mexico, setting out to volunteer with a nonprofit and attempt to build a life there, even if only for a while. It wasn’t a vacation or a brief escape — it was a genuine effort to start over in a place that felt completely unfamiliar. The reality, however, was far from welcoming. From the moment he arrived, he was met with culture shock, skepticism, and a sense that he would have to earn his place rather than be given one.
This episode dives into that experience — navigating distrust, adapting to a new environment, and forming unexpected friendships along the way. It explores what happens when a teenager tries to reinvent himself in a place that doesn’t owe him anything, and the lessons that come from being pushed far outside of everything he once knew.

Episode 4 - Liminal Spaces
Coming home after rehab was not the clean restart Michael had imagined. Instead, he found himself watching his peers graduate without him, left trying to figure out where he fit in. This episode explores those awkward, messy first steps into adulthood — learning how to be responsible, stay out of trouble, and define what “a future” even means.
Some choices moved him forward, while others pulled him off track — and one of those decisions ultimately took him farther from home than he ever expected.

Episode 3 - Juvenile Rehab
In this episode, Michael dives into one of the most defining chapters of his life — the 28 days he spent in juvenile rehab. Before he fully dropped out of high school, and before the chaos that would shape the rest of his teenage years, this was the first place he was forced to slow down, look inward, and confront who he was becoming.
Inside that building, he learned things he never expected — how to sit with himself, how to open up, and how to recognize the patterns he had been running from. Along the way, he even picked up something simple but memorable, like learning to spin a basketball on his finger for the first time. Those 28 days weren’t glamorous or inspiring in the moment, but in hindsight, they altered the trajectory of his life.
For anyone who has ever felt lost, stuck, or on the edge of spiraling, this episode is meant for you. Thank you for listening and being part of the journey.
