We are disciples of Jesus Christ, yet we are definitely people of the world. This is not a religious crusade; this is real life around us. There is a diverse, ever-changing, and shifting world around all of us in all sorts of things, so let's discuss that as friends. Join Landen Todd and Matthew Karshna, co-hosts of "Of the World Disciple," a podcast designed to bring all discussions and questions to the table, from all walks and beliefs of life. None excluded.
Have you noticed that modern politics and the way politics are done seem very similar to sports? We have! And that is a scary thing!

Asian Hate & Sex Addiction

Romanticized Persecution
There are a lot of peoples being persecuted across the world as we speak. It is very easy for the Western Church to act as if persecution is a serious issue for Disciples of Christ in America, but is it really though? Do Disciples of Christ understand what they are saying when they say this? What is true persecution?

Approach Carefully: Abortion
This is not the easiest topic to discuss, nor one that people take seriously enough at times. Please, as you listen, really take the time to evaluate your stance on this topic, why you stand on that ground, and never forget how vital and complex this discussion is.

God's Politics
Look...Government and politics are flawed because they are overseen and run by people, and last time we checked, not one person was flawless. Keep that in mind and remember that Jesus wasn't no republican or democrat!

The One About Mental Illness
We don't need more critics, we need more brothers and sisters. We don't need more commentators, we need more interveners. We don't need another voice saying "get over it," we need more engaged listeners. Mental illness is real and each specific individual fighting this struggle has specific needs that need to be met. Instead of trying to be a therapist, try being a friend.

No Easy Topic: Capital Punishment
If there is one thing we should not do, it is make something as serious as capital punishment a political topic. Join Landen and Matthew as they discuss this impactful subject and its manifestation in this life and the significance of it for the next. There is no easy answer, yet with an open mind and open discussion, perhaps we can together come to a reasonable conclusion.
