Honoring Yourself Through The Non-Linear Healing Journey
In this episode, Lisa and Laurea discuss the idea that healing is not linear, and that when old wounds or triggers return it doesn't mean we have failed or gone backward. They reflect on how the same themes can resurface after major life changes, and frame this as a new layer of work becoming available when we are ready to process it.
They also talk about shadow work and the parts of ourselves we tend to avoid, using the image of sorting through a messy family junk drawer. Also, they reject the idea that these returns are tests and instead see them as chances to go deeper, avoid spiritual bypassing, and continue choosing healing even when it is uncomfortable.

Lisa and Laurea discuss why being trauma-informed matters in everyday interactions and professional settings, especially in how words, tone, and touch can affect people dealing with stress or pain. They reflect on Hayden Panettiere’s death and what has been shared about her struggles, using it to consider how little we often know about what others are facing and why compassion matters.
