OFF THE GLASS PADEL PODCAST | EPISODE 5 - FIP BRONZE,COACHING & CAMPING feat. BEN BURGESS
🎾 FIP Bronze is coming to Taunton, our coach is abandoning us for Spain, and apparently Phil has absolutely no interest in getting better at padel! 😂
Welcome back to another episode of Off The Glass Padel Podcast!
This week, Phil (Salty Padel) and Byron Knowles return to where it all began, City Padel Exeter, joined by a very special guest — Head Coach Ben Burgess!
With Ben preparing to swap Devon for sunny Spain, we sit down to discuss his padel journey, his ambitions to take his playing career further and whether he'll be welcoming us into his garden for a camping holiday! ⛺🇪🇸
We also ask Ben the ultimate question: If he had six months to coach either Phil or Byron, who would improve the most?
Let's just say Phil probably regrets asking… 💀
🔥 WHAT'S IN THIS EPISODE?
🎾 COACHING, RANKINGS & REALITY CHECKS – Ben talks about growing up playing padel in Spain, representing Great Britain, coaching at City Padel and just how difficult it is to reach the top of the sport.
🇪🇸 SPAIN & CAMPING – Ben reveals why he's heading back to Spain, his plans for the future and the possibility of Phil turning up uninvited with a tent!
🏆 FIP BRONZE COMES TO EXETER! – International padel is heading to the South West! We discuss the upcoming tournament at City Padel Exeter and what it means for the local padel community.
😂 WHO'S THE BETTER STUDENT? – Ben gives his brutally honest assessment of Phil and Byron's padel abilities. One of us might need a new coach…
🍳 THE FRYING PAN CHALLENGE – Forget padel rackets! Byron challenges Ben to a ridiculous on-court battle using frying pans. Yes, actual frying pans!
🤫 COURT CONFESSIONS RETURN!
This week's confessions are guaranteed to divide the padel community:
🗣️ The players who suddenly become professional coaches halfway through a social match.
🍻 Why do padel clubs insist on scheduling their socials at exactly the same time?!
🥶 Getting completely FRIDGED during a match you've paid good money for!
We also revisit the controversial Preserva ball pressuriser discussion, hear about Byron's disastrous week on court and debate whether freezing out opponents is fair game in competitive padel.
💬 JOIN THE CONVERSATION!
Is it acceptable to fridge someone in a friendly match? Would you rather be coached by Ben or go camping in his garden? 😂

OFF THE GLASS PADEL PODCAST | EPISODE 4 - BEARDS,BALLS & PRESSURISERS feat. EXPLORE PADEL
🎾 Episode 4: Explore Padel, Viral Videos, Padel Confessions & Pressurised Balls
We’re back at Slazenger Padel Club at Exeter Quay for Episode 4 — and this one’s an absolute banger.
This week we’re joined by Guy Livingstone, aka Explore Padel, to chat about how his padel content journey started, going from filming matches on an iPhone to millions of views, playing with an ex-world No.1, getting recognised after a match with Jason Manford, and the infamous beard challenge that went on for FAR longer than expected.
We also put the Preserva automatic ball pressuriser to the test, comparing pressurised and non-pressurised balls on court to see if it actually makes a difference.
Plus, Byron gives us the latest from his week on court (including a slightly bloody padel incident), we settle the extremely important question of who’s better at padel — Phil or Byron — and finish with another round of Court Confessions.
This week’s confessions include a mystery man from Padel & Pints, Americano tournament rage, cancelling your actual friends for a better padel match, and one listener whose Apple Watch is taking an absolute battering from padel WhatsApp groups.
Expect padel, terrible jokes, questionable chat and plenty of chaos.

OFF THE GLASS PADEL PODCAST | EPISODE 2: BALLS OUT!
EPISODE 2 – BALLS OUT!
Episode 2 of Off the Glass Padel Podcast is here… and somehow we’ve already gone completely off the rails.
This week, Phil and Byron give us the latest from their week on court before turning the spotlight on each other and giving their brutally honest assessment of one another’s padel game. Who’s got the power? Who’s got the movement? And who should probably stop trying to hit winners from absolutely everywhere?
We also get into the world of padel rackets — carbon, foam, shapes, sweet spots and whether spending more money actually makes you any better. Spoiler: Phil may have some experience with that one.
Then it’s time for another round of Court Confessions, featuring questionable on-court behaviour, opponents running down the clock, partners who don’t realise they’re being targeted… and one story involving a net post and a pair of balls that you definitely won’t forget.
It’s padel chat with absolutely no filter.
