Dansmaker Dalton Jansen, verbonden aan Productiehuis Theater Rotterdam, gaat hierover in gesprek met Edson Sabajo, oprichter en eigenaar van streetwearmerk Patta. Dalton is ambitieus en zet zich in voor talentontwikkeling, inclusiviteit en representatie in de danswereld met onder andere stichting Black Birds en zijn Agentschap TheDanceAgent. Hij ziet in het werk van Edson met Patta een voorbeeld voor het opbouwen van een gemeenschap en het staan voor je eigen doelen en identiteit. Het is het startpunt voor een gesprek over vragen als: hoe vind je je drijfveren en hoe houd je die vast? En: hoe houd je je staande als kleine speler in een vakgebied vol reuzen? Theatermaker Mathieu Wijdeven is geïntrigeerd door dit beroep en vraagt zich af of het de kijk op schoonheid beïnvloedt. Hij ontmoet Naomi in deze aflevering van OFFBEAT Tijdens een wandeling door de beeldentuin van Atelier van Lieshout. In het gesprek geeft Naomi een inkijkje in de intrigerende manier waarop onze lichamen kunnen bepalen hoe we ons voelen. Het zijn complexe kwesties en kwetsbare onderwerpen, waar zij als arts die o.a. gespecialiseerd is in gender-operaties, mee te maken heeft. Mathieu en Naomi delen een grote interesse voor andermans verhalen, of die nu op straat of op de operatietafel verteld worden.
