About Oh Great, This Show

Welcome to the show your group chat warned you about. Mike and Tom are two longtime friends with just enough brains, bad ideas, and hot takes to make things interesting. Each week, they dive into whatever’s blowing up — current events, gambling wins (and losses), business plays, fast cars, dumb trends, and money talk that may or may not get them canceled. With guest interviews, live call-ins, and zero regard for staying on topic, it’s the unfiltered, slightly reckless weekly ride you didn’t know you needed. New episodes every week — come for the chaos, stay for the questionable advice.

The Wild Story of Tampa Bay's US19 Sign Guy

If you've spent any time driving US 19 through Pasco County, there's a good chance you've seen a giant painting, joke, tribute, advertisement or completely ridiculous message on the side of one particular building. This week, we finally got the guy responsible for it. Adonis — better known as the US19 Sign Guy — joins Mike and Tom on Oh Great, This Show for the story behind one of Tampa Bay's most recognizable roadside landmarks. And somehow, none of this started with him planning to become an artist. Adonis takes us from growing up as a preacher's kid to running labor companies, getting stranded in Kansas City after being fired, working in recruiting, selling batteries, opening Battery Viking locations and eventually deciding to start painting a building on US 19 despite admittedly knowing almost nothing about art. Naturally, it worked. We get into the viral Live PD sign that put him on a lot of people's radar, his Gabby Petito tribute, the Tiger King era, the business behind murals, how companies advertise on the building, creating huge artwork using Photoshop and VR, and the surprisingly complicated process behind something thousands of people casually drive past every day. But this is OGTS, so staying on topic was never a realistic possibility. We also discuss getting fired over jokes, the lead-paint conspiracy theory, why apparently some children CHEWED ON THEIR BUNK BEDS, waterbeds, Florida's US 19 chaos, a car crashing into Adonis' building, 7-Eleven blasting opera music, internet trolls, social media fame, AI-generated art, old-school software stores, Sierra, Electronics Boutique, Babbage's, Photoshop, CorelDRAW and the early days of the internet. Adonis also talks about where his art career is heading next, including much larger mural projects and commercial work around the country. Basically, we invited a local artist onto the show and accidentally got a crash course in entrepreneurship, Tampa Bay history, internet culture and the weird ecosystem surrounding US 19. #OhGreatThisShow #US19Sign #Adonis #TampaBay #PascoCounty #Florida #ComedyPodcast #Entrepreneurship #LocalArt #FloridaMan

Is Maserati Dying? Maserati Tampa Answers the Internet

Is Maserati dying? According to the internet, apparently they sold roughly three cars, everyone's getting fired and the entire company is about five minutes away from disappearing. There's just one problem: that's not actually what's happening. This week, Mike & Tom are joined by Chris Rogers, General Manager of Maserati Tampa, and Ahmad from the dealership's finance team for a nearly two-hour conversation about Maserati, luxury cars and the insanity that happens behind the scenes at a dealership. Chris addresses the viral claims about Maserati's sales and future in the United States, explains why the brand is currently operating with fewer models, and talks about what's coming next — including a redesigned Levante and another sedan. Then Mike gets on his soapbox. As an MC20 owner, he wants to know why the automotive world seemingly refuses to give the car the attention it deserves. We get into the MC20/MC Pura's break-in programming, its ridiculous power delivery, exotic-car depreciation and why Mike would apparently fight someone in an alley over the car's styling. Naturally, Porsche enters the conversation. Mike explains his problem with GT3 “clout culture,” why nobody seems impressed by a regular 911 anymore and how the internet may have convinced enthusiasts that an amazing car isn't worth owning unless strangers at Cars & Coffee approve of it. Then we go behind the dealership doors. Chris and Ahmad tell some absolutely insane stories — including a prospective Porsche buyer arriving on a bicycle with a bag of chocolate gold coins, identity thieves attempting to finance a Maserati using someone else's information, and the dealership deliberately keeping suspected scammers occupied until police arrive. We also get into the stuff buyers actually want to know: how luxury-car financing works, why first-time buyers usually can't jump straight into a six-figure loan, how much money you should consider putting down, 84 and 96-month financing, and why leasing can sometimes make much more sense than people think. Plus: Maserati's future, the upcoming Maserati movie, Mike almost selling his MC20 during a new-dad existential crisis, and why Maserati Tampa apparently needs to hire Mike as an unpaid brand ambassador immediately. It's cars, money, dealerships, supercars and questionable financial decisions. Basically, an extremely on-brand episode of Oh Great, This Show. #OhGreatThisShow #Maserati #MaseratiMC20 #MCPura #CarPodcast #Supercars #Porsche #PorscheGT3 #LuxuryCars #CarDealership #AutoFinance #CarCulture #AutomotivePodcast

Free Grills, Free Mopeds & Terrible Decisions

Some people see garbage on the side of the road. Tom sees inventory. This week on Oh Great, This Show, Mike discovers that Tom's love of free stuff goes significantly deeper than expected. It starts with the studio's 3D printer. Mike brought it in thinking everyone could use it occasionally. Tom apparently interpreted that as unlimited manufacturing capacity and has been printing anything he can get his hands on—from shelves and WRX parts to accessories for the Tesla. That leads to an important discovery: Tom REALLY likes free stuff. He'll grab things from the side of the road. He searches Facebook Marketplace. He's rescued grills people threw away, replaced a few rusty parts and put them right back into service. And apparently this behavior runs in the family. Then we hear one of Tom's finest childhood stories: he was riding a moped his family had found and fixed when a group of guys started approaching him. Convinced he was about to get robbed, Tom decided to skip the robbery entirely, threw the moped toward them and ran away. Technically, nobody stole it. David joins the conversation and reveals his own trash-to-cash strategy: buying broken riding mowers and trailers, repairing them and selling them for significantly more. We also get into modified Power Wheels, questionable welding, ridiculously fast go-karts and Mike nearly killing himself after driving one directly into a stop sign. Mike, meanwhile, says he doesn't really like free stuff because taking strangers' discarded possessions feels gross. Then he remembers the used Volkswagen GTI he bought with a used condom underneath the seat. So maybe free isn't the problem. It's 17 minutes of free stuff, Facebook Marketplace, flipping junk, 3D printing, childhood stupidity and questionable financial decisions. Basically a normal episode of Oh Great, This Show. #OhGreatThisShow #ComedyPodcast #FunnyPodcast #FreeStuff #FacebookMarketplace #TrashToTreasure #Marketplace #Flipping #DIY #3DPrinting #FunnyStories #PodcastComedy
