The 'Oh, Hey Sis' podcast comes from a platform created as a safe space for Black women to be celebrated and included in things unique to our experience. Each episode gives listeners a glimpse into the minds of many of today's Black women, discussing topics of love and life from each of our different perspectives. As a published romance author, I also use these girl chats with my close friends as a way to hear their take on situations discussed in my novels. We talk about everything from love, sex, careers, mental health, family, entertainment, culture, and more, with our own humorous twist.

Ep. 1: 'God Made Me Strong, But I Ain't THAT Strong!' (Monogamy vs. Open Relationships)

The first episode of the relaunched podcast introduces the tribe (old and new) to the newly adapted format of short quick fire chats about one specific topic. Our topic tonight was on open relationships: Have you tried it? Would you try it? What does it even mean and why does it seem like the pandemic caused legs to open just as quick as outside? Find out what me and three of the OG tribe members had to say about this and more!

Watch the video of this episode on our YouTube Channel: https://youtu.be/zShPMb_Ii84

Credits:

🎵 Intro/Outro Song: For Love x Jeff Kaale
🤎 WHOA NELLEY (@WHOA_NELLEY)
🤎 KeKe (@KeKe_TaughtU)
🤎 Camille (@A_Beauty_Cam)

S1 E2: “That's My Type”
First and foremost I just want to say that Capriccio white sangria is a muthafucka. My best friend Tay came back to the podcast and the plan was to sip a little bit and talk about a few topics in my next book. But before we could get into anything, the Capriccio put us all the way in our feelings and she gave me a hilarious mini therapy session (that's what friends are for though, right?). We did answer some questions from the #OHHEYSIS tribe about long-distance relationships, dating somebody older or younger than you, the best ways to get over these niggas, and even spilled tea on what our dream man would be like. You'll need a bottle of your favorite wine to get the full experience of this episode... or henny, if you're into that sort of thing. And I promise, we'll chill and be professional with this podcast... at some point.

S1 E1: "Buy My Books So I Can Get Out the Hood"

Episode 1 of #OHHEYSIS the podcast was THIS close to going in the trash folder. I brought two of my best friends over, got them faded and just pressed play on the recording. So naturally, some of our conversations went left a few times. We talked about our preference for hood "gentlemen," the need for a trial period before we commit to them seriously, what it takes to be a "ride or die" and why some of us need an opt-out button for that shit because who's trying to deal with JPay and visiting room sessions forever? We even shared a few stories about some sticky situations we got ourselves into with them when we were young and dumb. We'll be on our best behavior for episode 2 (possibly) but until then, enjoy this first episode of shit talking from your good sis' perspectives.
