Fashion & Psychology with Shakaila Forbes Bell
Following on from the previous episode of OH MY DAYES: What are we wearing? I had to dive deeper into world of fashion psychology to get more answers about how we can take control of our fashion choices so that we communicate effectively with the outside world. Only way to do this was to sit down with Shakaila Forbes Bell, Fashion Psychologist and author of Big Dress Energy. It’s the only interview of this series and its a good one. Shakaila takes us through her tips for having more confidence in the way you dress, her 4321 shopping theory and lots more.
To find out more about Shakaila and the awesome works she does, you can check out her blog here:

Fashion & Confidence
Fashion and the way it can help to build confidence in an individual is one of the main reason why I love fashion so much. So of course I had to dedicate an entire episode of OH MY DAYES: What are we wearing? to this, so I can share my reasoning. As you may know I like to encourage women to have fun with fashion and I think that starts with knowing your personal style. I run thorough the style personalities and show you how to harness your preference by utilising principles from fashion psychology. This episode is all about communicating through your outfits so you can look and feel like your most confident self.

How to get into presenting...
At first glance this episode may seem likes it not related to fashion, but since we’re getting to know each other better now, you’ll know that of course I’ll find a way squeeze it in! In this episode of OH MY DAYES: What are we wearing? I take you on the journey of how I got where I am now as a presenter, specialising in fashion. I talk about the route I took, the mountains I climbed, how I leveraged opportunities and some of the harsh lessons I learned. Being that hype girl, that wants to see you win, I of course share with you the steps I follow if I was just starting out in the world of presenting.
Please do keep in mind that my journey is far from over, I’m sure I’ll have plenty more mountain’s to climb, especially if I want to fill my pockets with positive presenting experiences. However I’ll probably need a pair of mens jeans to get the most out of my pockets. I know this makes no sense to you now, but this week’s Fashion Flashback will give you an insight into the history of pockets.

Fashion & Sustainability
We as a society are consuming more than ever before; with the fashion industry being one of the major contributors. Let’s find out some of the hardcore disturbing facts and work out how we can do our bit to reduce our impact, while still looking and feeling good. In this episode of OH MY DAYES: What are we wearing? I talk about shopping more mindfully and how to “Marie Kondo” you’re wardrobe so you can actually find items in your wardrobe and stop being that woman who has a closet stuffed to the brim with clothes, but still says, I have nothing to wear!
Here’s the link so some sustainable shopping options:

Denim jeans are one of the most resource intensive pieces of clothing but I personally found the history fascinating and that’s what we’re looking at for our Fashion Flashback.

Wanna be on top?
So it’s a debut episode of OH MY DAYES: What Are We Wearing? and I wanted to kick things off with a topic that I would assume that I’m most known for and that’s my journey on Britain’s Next Top Model and America’s Next Top Model: British Invasion. It over a decade since I appeared on these hit reality shows and I still get questions about the audition process, my relationship with girls and how I found the overall experience. So I’ve done my best to answer all of those questions right here.
I mention that I’ve done a whole bunch of reaction videos to various episodes of America’s Next Top Model and interviewed some of the girls from my season. If you wanna check those out you can head to my YouTube channel:

Every episode ends with a Fashion Flashback, where I give you a brief history on some of our favourite items of clothing. I kick things off with the white button down shirt.
