Podcast Overview

There are moments in life you don’t realize are special until you look back years later. That’s what On Air with Douglas was for me. In 2011, I started a small internet radio show with a microphone, a lot of curiosity, and a lifelong love of daytime television. I didn’t have a studio or a big network behind me. It was simply a passion project that grew into something much bigger than I ever expected. From 2011 to 2014, On Air with Douglas became an incredible and surreal experience. I had the chance to interview actors and actresses from nearly every soap opera that was on the air at the time, along with many beloved performers from the classic era of daytime television. People I had watched for years suddenly became voices in my headphones, sharing stories about their careers, their characters, and the shows that meant so much to fans. If you had told the teenage version of me watching soaps after school that one day I’d be talking with these actors, I would have thought you were kidding. But somehow it happened. What made the show special wasn’t just the interviews. It was the conversations. Many of the guests were generous with their time and their memories. Some talked about iconic storylines. Others reflected on the early days of their careers or shared stories from shows that no longer exist but still live in the hearts of viewers. Each episode felt like capturing a little piece of television history. This blog exists for one reason: preservation. Over time, pieces of the show ended up scattered across the internet. Platforms changed, links disappeared, and some of the episodes became harder to find. That never felt right to me, because those conversations deserve a place where they can be heard again. So this space is now the archive. Here I’ll be uploading episodes of On Air with Douglas from 2011 through 2014. Think of it as a digital broadcast library. Each post will be another episode from the show, another conversation, another memory from a very unique chapter of my life. Looking back, the whole experience still feels a little unreal. A guy with a microphone and a love for soaps somehow found himself talking with the very people who helped shape the genre. Life can be funny that way. Sometimes you follow something you love and it opens doors you never expected. Welcome to the On Air with Douglas Archives. The tapes are rolling again. 🎙️
