About On Being Christian

We are redefining (or more accurately stated - we are correctly defining), what being a Christian means. Too often who we claim to be has become nothing more than a matter of who we say we are, but who we really are has much more to do with what we do and how we live. The “On Being Christian” Podcast aims at removing the title “Christian” from being nothing more than a NOUN people use to define themselves and placing it back in the VERB category. Meaning it is an action that people practice to define themselves. This Podcast won’t be what you think it is, but you might find it is exactly what you need it to be.

   Humanity seems to be as good at finding value where we want, as we are at finding fault where we desire. The issue seems to be that we always seem to find value in ourselves and what we think, and we find fault in others and what they think. What do you suppose would change if we found value and fault in accordance with Biblical guidelines as opposed to our own subjective views? This episode is all about the correct perspective of what is valuable, as well as, what is faulty.

As is the case for most things, why we do something is often more important than how we do it or just the fact that we did it.    Repentance may be perhaps one of the most misunderstood aspects of Biblical Doctrine within Christianity today. It has been defined incorrectly as "a work" for many years by most "scholars", which has led to a lot of confusion with respect to genuine Salvation. This episode aims at understanding from true Biblical Doctrine what repentance to God looks like and what one must repent from. Episode #120 ties in very purposefully with last week's episode (#119), which was about the role of faith in Salvation.
