This is also a public institution, but you cannot walk in. So the prison system is what we call a closed system. It is not open. We often talked about closed family. When a family is a closed family and isolated, there's greater risk of harm within that family. And... So these closed systems always have higher risk for harm. And there's not even a metaphor here. There's just massive walls. It's very simple. I think something that was really hard for us to hear, really moving for us to hear, was when we spoke with women who had reported sexual assault and told us, if I could go back, I wouldn't have done that.
