Could you maybe give people a quick TLDR on what happened and what's the impact on other hardware wallets and manufacturers? Yes, definitely. Whenever you have crypto, you need to generate like a master secret that's called the seed, your list of 24 words. And the property that is really required is that the seed must be very random, like randomly generated, meaning that the space of potential seed should be maximal. Yeah. two to the power of uh 256 um and um and secondly uh there shouldn't be any deterministic way to generate them so it should be impossible to uh to guess uh like a specific seed And the issue that was in the cold card code was such that instead of generating a completely random seed, the space of the seeds was really, really small.
